Guest guest
Beth, Dec. 2004 they changed the thyroid scale so that normal was between 0.4 and 3.0. What scale is your endo using? My ob/gyn feels thyroid levels should be around 1.5. Lynda At 07:27 PM 7/11/2007, you wrote: >Hi Lynn, > >Do you ever feel your neck glands are swollen? This is a huge >problem for me. Guest guest
Hi Beth!! I have missed you. I try not to touch the glands because they hurt so bad!! If I touch my thyroid it makes the pain that much worse. I will try it though. I will feel them when I don't feel inflammed and then compare them to when I am having inflammation. The only doctors in my area who would prescribe armour are out of my way too. It took me about 45 mintues to get to his office today with traffic!! I had to go twice too. I got a DHEA, AM & then PM Cortisol. Not fun. Is there any other doctors you can go to in your area? Seems crazy to me that they are waiting for it to go up to 4!! OUCH!! Mine was at 3.5 and was killing me. Mine is now at 2.04 and it still hurts. I am hoping to get under 1.0. I will try the hot shower and walks. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Oh, and I am now having the numbness on my face. I am getting used to something new and different popping up every now and again. Guest guest
Beth, My numbness is on my cheek bones, both sides. Patty was kind enough to ask the members of the Thyorid Board and they said it is common with those taking armour (at first). I just started armour on Tuesday, and the numbness happened that day. I am hoping it will subside. I am sorry you are dealing with this! Not fun. Hugs, Lynn Beth <bethlakey@...> wrote: oh jeez, where is the numbness? Sometimes it will be the right side of my face, sometimes my nose. The nose area really messes me up, as it is sensory and makes me feel like I can't breathe. THen I have to try breathing through my mouth. I feel it is related to the mold in the area where I live. Didn't you say you have mold?Hot showers help at night, sometimes hot baths, a FIR sauna was very helpful when I had access to one. Also, walking helps the circulation in that area.hugs,Beth>> Hi Beth!! I have missed you. I try not to touch the glands because they hurt so bad!! Guest guest
Lynn, I'm sorry you're having this numbness, but relieved to hear that it is a common side effect of armour. I hope that you find some relief with the armour!
