Hi Anne,

I'm glad to hear I have a twin sister. I'm sorry that she's undiagnosed MS and Fybro though. Oh, do I remember the days of TDY, although the Marines call it TAD. There was one year I was gone more than I was home. My daughter was staying with my parents and the school district was giving me all kinds of grief about my being gone. It took a call to my

congressman's office to keep her in our district. They actually wanted me to give up custody of my daughter to my parents!

Do you have MS also, and your sister has undiagnosed MS? In my family there is me and my younger brother, and we also have 2 cousins in NY, my dad's family that also have MS. It's pretty bizarre, my mom has a friend whose 2 daughters have MS also.

One of the girls I grew up with worked down the hall from me. After I got my diagnosis she introduced me to one of her coworkers that has MS. She grew up just a couple of blocks from me and says she was in our Campfire group. None of us remember for sure though.

As more people from work found out about my diagnosis, I had people coming up to me telling me about their husband, brother, sister, mom, etc., that also have MS. We kind of started our own little support group at work, nothing formal, would just get together and talk every once in a while We've all lost contact now that the Center closed.

I wish and pray for the best for you and your sister. Thanks for writing.

Tina

you are a twin to my sister CJ - she is in AFB in a civil service job - never can remember what - TDY to VA - she is undiagnosed MS and fibro

we are both army brats

I am at Lawton - Fort Sill - FA home

there are several of us here

Hello Everyone

Thank you, everyone for the wonderful welcome to this group. I thought I would take this time to introduce myself. My name is , go by Tina most of the time, 52 years old, was diagnosed in December 2000 with relapsing/remitting MS. It started with the left side of my body going numb starting at the waist and gradually moving down my leg to my foot. Still have some of the numbness, mostly from the waist to the thigh. (Which is really good because I can't feel my insulin shots.)I personally believe that there is a blessing in every part of our lives, even the supposedly bad things that happen to us. My blessing in being diagnosed with MS, it got me out of relationship that was not good for me at all. It also taught me to slow down, not to always be in such a rush all the time, spend more quality time with my daughter, etc. I've never been married, have one daughter who will be 24 this year. I live alone with my 2 babies

(cats), who are twins, Ben and Jerry. They love their ice cream too, which is how they got their names. I have trouble telling them apart, except Jerry has freaky long whiskers, like 5 inches long. I just had to measure them, never had seen any that long before. Ben has short whiskers, maybe 2 1/2 inches.I took early retirement from my job a year ago when the Center was getting ready to close. I worked for the Department of Defense, specifically the Marine Corps, for almost 32 years. Wrote travel and transportation policy and procedures for the USMC for the majority of my time there. Fortunately, I got to keep my insurance, also got a buy out, this enables me to not have to work, although I want a job, too young to sit at home. Hope I haven't bored you all to death yet, one of the things I'm learning to do with all this free time is beading. Jewelry, bookmarks, wine glass rings, etc., reading, the computer, of course, otherwise, wouldn't

have found this group.Happy good days to all. If anyone ever wants to talk or wants a shoulder, give me a shout.Tina

CJ is my heart sister - you know the part about - friends are the

family you pick - like here -

we are both from Lawton and been around the army forever - we

understand each other

she is in a bad mood this week - her dog Egon is in prison at the vet

- he is still thrilled from his last TDY/incarceration - she had a

really crappy flight and connection - it ain't the friendly skies

it must be a rough one - I haven't had an email

this is the best egroup - we laugh, we cry - we forget - we remember -

we do it together

Oh, good Lord, do I ever. If it wasn't for heart sisters, don't know how I would have made it through life. One of my sisters is a friend I've known since I was 5 years old. It just doesn't seem possible that we've been friends for 47 years. There are about 6 of us and we try to get together every few months or so.

While I'm not a military brat, I did work for the Marine Corps for 32 years before I took the early retirement. The only Army installation I ever went TDY to was Ft. on. I remember checking into the VIP quarters one time, talk about thin walls, lol, went in to take a shower, turned on the water and it was rusty, so no shower to clean up after traveling. Fortunately it was fixed by the next morning.

I'm not a person who likes to fly and one trip home from Indianapolis, first the plane coming in for the flight home was late, then it had mechanical difficulties, took about an hour to get another plane there, by then it was storming to the point where there was a question about us taking off at all. Once we got in the air, the stewardess' weren't allowed out of their seats. Oh, was it a bumpy flight. We ran into the same storm in Chicago for my connecting flight home to KC, had to circle around for about another hour, did not like flying over Lake Michigan where all you could see on either side of the plane was water, with lightning coming down around us. Once we landed, that left 10 mins for me to make it across the entire terminal to make my flight home, running in a dress and heels, got there just as they were getting ready to shut the door. Was never so happy to get home.

Sorry for writing so much, comes from the years, 24, I spent as a technical writer. Can't seem to quit sometimes.

Take Care,

Tina
