Why did you get a hotel in Lakewood, you should have one very close to downtown Denver. Can you change that? Do you have someone with you to drive after the surgery? Guest guest Posted November 2, 2007 Report Share Posted November 2, 2007 I booked in Lakewood because my friend recommended the La Quinta. I guess her sister stays there a lot and its a nice one. I got a suite with two beds, microwave and a frig. Since I'm not going to be going out after surgery, I wanted a big place with amenties. I got a great price too! My friend who's helping me is flying in Monday evening. Her sister who lives in Colorado is also coming to stay with us and will be taking me and bringing me back from surgery. They will both be taking care of me and getting me to my post-op on Thursday. No, of course, since I can't change the flight, I am unable to change my hotel. Live and learn! Make sure to take the carpool lane when you are driving through Denver on I-25. You'll have more then one person in the car, right? If so, the carpool lane is much faster. The weather should be fine for you in Denver. It's supposed to be in the 50's, so cold but no snow or anything like that. The airport is a pretty good distance from downtown Denver. It's actually close to my house! I wouldn't worry too much about your apt. at St.Lukes, if you are late they aren't going to send you away so don't stress about that. They'll still see you. Make sure you have good directions and don't stress because when you stress then you get discouraged. Just stay calm and relax. The traffic here is nothing like it is in California!
