Hello all. Today, I got my used Yogourment, I'm so psyched. I am

going to try commerical yogurt as the starter. Are the probiotis

added to the yogurt, when? Thanks in advance. God Bless. Tina

Tina,

I put my son's probiotics in his yogurt though I don't know if most

people do this and you certainly don't have to. I just thought it

would help protect the probiotics and get them to their destination.

I add them right before serving. The yogurt has been great for Gibson

and this might be part of it.

Good Luck.

Hope

Hi Tina,

If you'll be making cow yogurt

All the details for making goat yogurt can be found at :

I am not quite sure what you mean about adding the probiotis to yogurt. The

yogurt will be full of helpful bacteria if prepared properly and you don't need

to add anything else. Some people who are unable to tolerate yogurt ...yet,

take probiotic powder or capsules instead but not usually both.

Hope this helps. :)

Tina,

Be sure to check Elaine's site for the allowed types of yogurt to be

used as starters.

None of the stores in my area actually carry any of them.

Plus, if you are making goat yogurt, using cow yogurt as a starter

will still leave cow products in the final yogurt.

I am not trying to dissuade you, but make sure you can actually find

what you need before you get started. " Any old yogurt " will not be

appropriate for the starter.
