Guest guest
Has anyone experienced significant pain relief which can directly be attributed to taking Cymbalta? I saw a new doc yesterday as my beloved GP was unavailable. We talked about how Cymbalta was touted as helping with pain. She stated that none of her patients experienced pain relief from the Cymbalta. We talked about how the claims that this medication helps pain were probably overstated. If someone out there experienced pain relief, that is awesome and I think that is great! I just don't think many people have. I don't think it has helped my depression at all either. My insurance won't pay for it unless it is documented that I didn't respond to other generic drugs (I have been taking my fiance's mother's pills- they didn't work for her either). So I am switching to Zoloft. Hugs to my friends. I DO think of you each day. I know you are a loving and kind bunch and I can truly feel the warmth that we, as individuals in our own spheres, give to those around us. Guest guest
Hi, I'm new here and took Cymbalta with no success. The doctor started me on 30mg for a month with no relief. He then raised it to 60mg and it made me so sick to my stomach that I stopped taking it. He prescribed Lyrica, but after reading all the posts about it, I'm not getting it filled. Besides, I'm on Topamax for my migraines and I saw a previous post that said you can't take Lyrica with Topamax. I guess my doctor didn't know that. So all I take is 800mg of motrin 3 times a day which really doesn't do much. I just started taking calcium and magnesium so maybe that will help. I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks just reading all the posts and I have been learning a lot from everyone here. The one thing I have learned the most is DOCTORS SUCK! Guest guest
Anne Marie, Sounds like you have had some not-so-good experience with doctors. What happened? Many doctors don't adequately treat the pain caused by fibro. There are certain places you can look on the Internet to find recommended doctors in your area who treat Fibro. Guest guest
Hi, I just started Cymbalta at 20mg about 2 weeks ago, for anxiety/depression/fibro. I had just tried Lexapro (which I had heard great things about) and it made my anxiety WAY worse. I went from a worrier by nature to having panic attacks. My doc said some people have that response ( a small number of people), and switched me to Cymbalta. I know I am at a low dose, but meds usually are intense for me so I take lowish dosages. Anyway, to answer your question, right now I am getting ZERO pain relief from the Cymbalta. I am also starting up Lyrica, started at 25mg twice a day, now up to 150mg twice a day, so we will see. I will let you know. Hugs and healthy thoughts to everybody, > > Has anyone experienced significant pain relief which can directly be attributed to taking Cymbalta? Guest guest
Hi Becca, Just asking. I'm sure your doctor knows best. But this post you said you are taking Zoloft.....but the next post he has you on very high mgs of lyrica. Did the doctor prescribe both for you? Just curious. Guest guest
I take Cymbalta, it definitely helps my depression. My problem is that without Cymbalta I'm super depressed, and that makes me hurt worse, so I don't know if the Cymbalta is working on the pain or not. Anyway, I like Cymbalta, and am hoping to stay on it for a while. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better Heartthrob.
