Hi !

I'm in Sydney, Australia, and I have only one cervix! Both my children

were born before my septum resection, which was in June this year. My

daughter will turn 6 in December, and my son was 2 in August. I had 4

miscarriages before my daughter was born, and 3 before my son was born.

I had another miscarriage in August last year, and it was through this

group that I gained the courage to find out if my original diagnosis of

Bicornuate Uterus was accurate, or whether I was misdiagnosed, and

actually had a Septate Uterus. I saw a Recurrent Miscarriage

specialist, Professor , who is head of Ob/Gyn at the

Royal Hospital for Women, back in late April, and he performed my

surgery, combined laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, resecting with an

electro-tool. He also performed an ultrasound at the same time as the

surgery in order to guide him more efficiently. Apparently he's a

" trail-blazer " in this technique!

I've also referred another Sydney woman to see Prof , Elise.

She's gone to see him for an initial consultation last month, and she's

going to see him again in October, to discuss surgery options.

I should add that I have had all my surgery and consultations paid for

by the Australian public health system. The government pays it now,

but we have a high levy (income based) to pay at tax time! Still, it

works out to be far cheaper than going through the private health

system!
