Guest guest
Hi, I would like to make a switch into better, maybe organic ingredients with someconsideration. I'm basically poor, well, take that for what you will.Basically, my favorite types of tea that have been working well for me are, the StashGreen/White Fusion, some general stores, some in health food stores. But I got a great deal off Amazon on a case of the Fusion.Plus, the tea that changed the way I brew would have to beEarl Grey, it is the only one I have heard countless times from the brewers who have been brewing, some have been at it 30+ years. I have been brewing a little over a year and have hardly used anything but store bought tea, once even Lipton, but I won't say that too loud, and it was in the beginning, lol.I have not had much luck with many kinds of green teas except for the Stash Fusion. That's my 2 cents on this.Thank you. Guest guest
Jahjet, I'm seeing that a lot of tweaking needs to be applied here.I bought at a thrift store, for me, the find of the century. A HUGE! Big pyrex mixing bowl.Just the way I had envisioned I would find for transferring SCOBYs, and removinglarge SCOBYs to suck out with turkey baster-(thank you Margaret!)Great idea. I suck out yeasty sediment on bottom of bowls.Or wherever it's needed. I make sure to clean carefully. But I'm getting some great feed back from all people who have chimed in.Thank you all! I feel hopeful for almost the first time in the year I've been brewing.I need to clear out the old SCOBYs to give more space to the more thriving ones.I keep a lot in the 2.8 gallon bowl, but still I think enough is enough. Some of them seem intimidating to wrestle with extracting from bowl.Well, I can see now what needs to be done.Thank you all again! Will keep you updated on my SUCESS! Guest guest
Hmm i am perplexed still..usually when I have too many scobies in my brew it is faster..than again maybe you are feeding too many scobies, so maybe you are onto something there for weeding them out, especially the older bottom layers..Kind of wondering if maybe too much yeast is taken out..some yeast is needed and welcomed, well it is all in the balance, i think maybe you are not using enough tea..is it possible?? you were making scobies, but not brew.. kind of a unique situation..it sounds like you are on the path now..still curious is your tea still sweet or is it turning sour? Taste it??? lov jahjet > > > > > > Hi, I would like to make a switch into better, maybe organic ingredients with someconsideration.
