That sucks, Salli. Go for it. Tell them what they

need to hear....that they will do it by the law.

I hate fighting too. But if it needs doing.....

Why don't they want him? What reasons did they give..?

Should we all email the school and tell them how

delightful Putter is..all 200+ of us here?

They gave no reasons. They're just stalling and hoping that I won't know

any better. Theresa said that the staff were laughing and saying that they

would find out I was a pretty well-informed and involved parent.

Putter is a handful, but a charming handful.

Don't let them get away with it, Salli. I hate fighting too, but I

know you won't let them push you around like that. You know what's

best for Putter. You just have to show the school.

Fools is right! This story is starting out quite familiar.

>>>>>>

They said it is too late in the school year to set things up for Putter and

that we must do it in the fall. Putter would start a few weeks late.

<<<<<<<

OK, THAT'S BS.

So why can they not do this for Putter?

<<<<

They CAN, but will probably come up with a dozen excuses not to.

<<<<<<

Me too, Salli...ME TOO! If these schools only understood what they were

missing out on.

They already are. This morning they told me that Putter did have the right

to start on time in the fall but he would do so without supports because

there was no time to put those supports in place.

" I wouldn't do that to MY child, " the special ed director told me

self-righteously.

Geez.

Then tell her to get off her ass NOW and get those supports in place -

she has three months. Let her know if it WAS her kid, she'd sure make

sure the school did it for her. They sound awfully lazy!

Hmmmmmmmmm if it's written in his IEP I beg to differ. Here is PA we have a

place called the Educational Law Center... anything out there like that out

there?

no no no...

What BS.

What's wrong with starting NOW?

Jacqui's transition IEP is 6/11, their other alternative was 8/23...3 days

before she starts second grade.

I think not.

Penny - who's sending good vibes Salli's way....
