Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the list, just starting induction today. I have an old book that gives the rules of induction, but was published b/4 all the LC products, such as Atkins bake mix, etc. came out. Can those products be used on induction now, or is it best to just stick to basic meat, eggs, cheese, etc. TIA, Buffy

Guest guest
Hi group! :-) Well, halfway through my first day of induction. b/f was 1 egg, 3 slices bacon, decaf with cream and liquid splenda. Lunch was 12 chicken wing sections, baked, and 2 servings diet jello with 1 T cream swirled in. Dinner is planned with steak and a salad with ranch dressing. Lots of water. So far, so good but know I have a few more days before ketosis sets in and the appetite goes away. Thanks for the welcome , it seems like a nice friendly list. Buffy :-) P.S. Guest guest
Hi, Buffy, Welcome! I'd recommend that you stick to good homecooked foods during induction, and to base those food choices on the foods listed in the Induction Chapter of the book . . . Chapter 8 of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. After the first two weeks, then you can begin to experiment with some other choices, as you expand the number of carbs you are taking in for ongoing weight loss. Guest guest
Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome to your group. I have just finished my first day of induction and did it by the book this time. Whew, 13 days to go, LOL. I am feeling pretty yucky tonight, kind of like I am coming down with the flu. I know several have mentioned that it is rough at first, is this kind of what they were talking about. I know from what I have read that it passes, so will stick it out, but sure will be glad when this part is over. My menu for the first day was: 1 egg, fried 3 slices bacon decaf with cream and liquid splenda 12 chicken wing sections, baked diet jello with a little cream 2 oz havarti cheese 6 oz beef tenderloin, grilled 1 cup coleslaw, made with just shredded cabbage, some mayo and some splenda diet jello with cream cheese and sour cream swirled in. I feel like I maybe ate too much, but was hungry for it and know that my appetite will decrease once I get into ketosis, so I didn't worry about the calories today. Does this look OK for induction to all of you experienced atkins? Thanks for the help, Buffy :-) A big Atkins Welcome to you Buffy. Glad you are with us.Kim (Terry's sis)
Guest guest
Buffy, I think that looks great for induction, and I don't think it was too much food. Terry
Guest guest
I don't think that's too much food either on induction or off - looked like a good day of eating to me. You might want to check out the turtles menus (link on the bottom of each email) - they are based on 20 carbs a day and give a really good idea of what eating properly on Atkins is all about Kirstie
