Guest guest
Hello all, I've been taking Armor for 4 months and since I started taking it I have been getting a skin reaction. I get small white bumps with fluid that pop up in patches on the palm of my hand and on both of the insides of my feet by the heel. I think it must be related to the Armor since it started right when I started taking it. Anyone else have this reaction or hear about it? I'm considering switching to a different medication but don't know what to try. Synthroid gave me horrible headaches. I am feeling somewhat better on Armor but my skin is getting worse. Any suggestions about what other med I could try that is similar to Armor? Thanks and Happy Holidays!!! Jill
Guest guest
You might be having an allergic reaction to one of the binders in the tablets... you could try another brand of natural... I happen to use Time-Caps brand..but there are several others. Guest guest
Thanks Topper, you may be right. I think I'll call my doctor and see if she will write a script for Westhroid or Nature-Throid. Guest guest
Hi Jill, Are you taking anything else in addition to the Armour? Such as adrenal support, multivitamin, Folic acid, Selenium, Iron or any thing else that you weren't taking before you started on Armour? Also, what level of Armour are you currently taking? How are you taking it? May we ask what your diagnosis is? I had little white pustuials appear on my upper arms after my third surgery in 3 years...after starting on an adrenal support these bumps eventually disapated...however it took a while for the adrenals to get into the rest and repair mode. Then when I ran out and didn't replenish my adrenal supply the bumps showed back up...grumble....chuckle, its like I told my self, If something is working, why stop it..... Guest guest
Hi Gossimer, Good questions. I've added a lot of things the past few months so I am not completely sure it's the Armour, but I recall that the bumps started right when I started Armour. I take isocort daily for adrenals. I was thinking of stopping the isocort to see if that's the problem, but don't want to stress my adrenals. I take 1 grain of Armour per day, sublingually, half a pill at 6am and half at 3pm. With breakfast (8am) I take 3 isocort, vitamin C, magnesium, and ginseng. With lunch I take a B vitamin, 3 isocort, magnesium and vitamin C. With dinner I take glucosamine, vitamin C, calcium, acidophilous and a multivitamin. Whew, that's a lot of pills! Most of the vitamins I was taking before starting Armour, I added calcium and magnesium and extra vitamin C after the Armour. My diagnosis is Hypothyroid. I was tested once for Hashi's antibodies, they did not find any. My last blood labs were all in normal ranges, and I do feel better, but still have a lot of symptoms. Thanks so much for your interest and advice! Jill > > > > Hello all, > > > > I've been taking Armor for 4 months and since I started taking it > I > > have been getting a skin reaction. Guest guest
Hi Jill, Well, depending upon how long you have been on Isocort, more than 6 months, you might try decreasing your dosage by one pellet. Then in 6 weeks try decreasing another pellet. I am one who would rather put up with the bumps and wait for the adrenals to have a chance to rest and heal than to jeopordize the amount of time that I have already put into the time of getting them to heal...however, I am one who wears pants all the time...and with winter here I am wearing long sleeves to cover the arms. You might try increasing the number of multivitamins from one to two or three tablets a day, spread out over each meal. One thing that I take, and it seems to be helping is a Collidal(sp?) of minerals, which includes silver and many other trace elemental minerals. I got this from a GNC store after I had read about the properties of Silver Collidal(sp?) and decided to give it a try. I know not to take this for an extended amount of time, however, in the short time, the silver supposedly helps heal weird things. shrug, it's worth a try... Guest guest
Hi Gossimer, Thank for your response. In agreement with your line of thinking, I have continued to take Isocort and Armour despite the bumps/blisters/whatever the heck they are but this has been going on for 4 months and they are spreading and my skin is beginning to really suffer so I think I better figure this out. I may switch back to the nutrimeds adrenal support for a while just to rule out the isocort. If that doesn't do it, I will switch from Armour to a Nature- throid if my doc will write the script. The silver is a good idea, I'll give it a try, though I don't think it will help my welts/bumps/blisters/whatever they are since I'm pretty sure they are an allergic reaction to either the Armour or Isocort. Thanks again for your suggestions, I'll let you know what happens. Jill > > > > Hi Gossimer, > > > > Good questions.
