I wanted to let all the new folks know, and remind all the 'oldies' that we have a registry for advocate volunteers. Buddies.

There are times when you just want to 'visit' with one person, someone close enough to call on the phone, or meet for coffee or have go along with you to see the doc, or draw labs.

That's what our Advocate Volunteers are. Folks that can go the extra step to give others a helping hand, shoulder or ear.

If you have any questions, feel free to give either or I a holler... otherwise you can just head on over to the group home page http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Thyroid_Support_Group/and on the left side of the screen you will see a link for DATABASE, click on that and then look for the link for ADVOCATE VOLUNTEERS and click.Toward the top you will see ADD RECORD.. just click and then fill in the blanks.Remember this is all volunteer. You are offering your self as an advocate to accompany another group member in your area on an office call or for one on one email or IM contact or maybe a phone call. If your situation at any given time does not allow you the time to help, you are under no obligation. We hope to make this list as extensive as possible, so even if you have only certain times available please sign up... details can be worked out between you and the member that is looking for a buddy.

You don't have to post your address, just city/state, no phone numbers or anything like that, that personal info can be exchanged when the time comes with just the individual that you chose to buddy with, you can maintain your privacy.
