Guest guest
Hi Girls, Just to let you know, I was told at today's appointment that Kaiser will cover the cost of removing my implants. They stressed, however, that they will not replace them. I have been referred to the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Center. I don't know what the explantation approach will be but will find out once I actually meet with a surgeon. I'll keep ya' posted on how this progresses. So... good news so far! ~ ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Take the Internet to Go: Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile./go?refer=1GNXIC
Guest guest
Lynda, Why is it important to have the scar capsule removed? You've mentioned it twice, so guess it's time to ask. Guest guest
, The scar tissue is full of sloughed off silicone from the shell, and many women have had to have repeat surgery to get it out when it was left behind. They just did not get well when it was left in because it is so toxic. Lynda At 04:50 PM 9/18/2007, you wrote: >Lynda, > >Why is it important to have the scar capsule removed? Guest guest
Wonderful ! . . . Just be sure to insist they do it right! If they try to tell you that the capsules will be absorbed . . ask THEM to prove it! . . . Because you have proof otherwise! . . . See Dr. Blais' article! Guest guest
, Welcome to the group !!! I had my explant surgery 2 weeks ago after having my implants in for almost 3 years. I became sick right after having them put in. I didn't think it had anything to do with the implants because I was told they were saline and saline is safe. The surgeon never said the shells were made of silicone. When I found the group it was hard for me to understand the importance of having all of the toxic tissue removed. I thought just as long as I got the implants out I would get better. When I got the implants, the surgeon said the worst thing that could happen is a rupture, He neglected to tell me the silicone in the shell flakes off and sticks to your insides like glue. You will hear again and again, stories of women that did not have the scar capsules removed along with the implants and they continue to be sick. They also have to have surgery one or more times to remove the remaining tissue full of silicone. When I had my surgery 2 weeks ago, I had planned for the worst. I didn't care what my breast looked like after surgery, just as long as they got ALL of the poison out of me. Unfortunetly I could not afford a lift or fat tranfer, but luckily he did a great job and I think he tightend the skin up a bit. Yes, after having the implants and scar capsules, plus 5 large cysts removed I am nearly flat, but to get better I would have sacrificed my right arm and left leg. When I awoke from surgery, the surgeon told me he got all of the tissue with silicone out. How did he know this ? He could see it in the scar tissue and feel its gumminess. Since surgery 2 weeks ago, I have gotten so much better already. I haven't gone cliffdiving or anything like that yet, but I'm doing great ! I was so scared that I would still be sick and in pain after explant, but now I know I made the right decision and I am getting better everyday. Thank God for this great group of ladies !!! I will keep you in my prayers. Take care of yourself and learn all you can about implant illness. It may save your life, it saved mine !!! <sandiegoangela@...> wrote: Lynda,Why is it important to have the scar capsule removed?
