My blood test came by mail yesterday. I must say it confused me to no

end.

My A1c went down from 7.4 to 6.9 which is still not good but I did

manage to bring it down somehow even thought I had a few months of crazy

eating and crazy meter readings.

My cholesterol went down somewhat from 151 to 147. The paper says that

fewer than 200 is good but my old doc said I want a 100? Seems a long

way off..

My Good cholesterol went down which is NOT good: was 50 now 37 but

normal is 35 so im just barely ok but im going to work on this. I was

on Atkins a bit and im one of the 1 percent or so that can't do that

diet. I do not loose weight on it and my numbers go nutty.

My bad cholesterol went UP which is bad from 85 to 88. But the paper

says that fewer than 130 is good.

My triglycerides went up from 78 to 109 which seem real drastic to me

but paper says under 200 is good.

Im not freaked because I am doing so week.

I walked 1 to 2 miles every day this week! Which is a miracle for me and

my kids are not letting me stop. They hound me all day to take them!!

:-)

You know we all on this list are really obsessed with perfect numbers

and I think that is good because we will live longer and have better

lives in our older years and especially use in our 30's or 40's because

we have YEARS to live with this and its better to keep the monster

asleep a bit...

Well, believe it or not my A1C was 5.9 and I am not on any medication.

I cut all sweet drinks (various teas, lemonade, pop and such) completely

out. I now drink water with a little splash of Realemon and have grown to

actually like it. (cheesy smile)

I also have cut *WAY* back on breads and other wonderfully tasting white

things such as those awful mashed potatoes with yummy gravy, biscuits with

honey and other things with such magnificent memories from days gone by.

(frownie face)

At any rate, this seems to work in my case as my fasting sugar is usually 85

to 100.

Ah, for those days long lost in the past.

Okay folks, I think we need to quell something. I do not have great will

power at all. If it were up to me I would pig out on ice cream, mashed

potatoes and gravy and finish off with a nive, tall glass of Country " Time

Lemonade. (LOL)

It is my spouse, Crystal, who tends to keep me on the straight and (sorta)

narrow. I feel very guilty if I have something which she can not have

because I would nag her to stay on the wagon thus, if you are going to talk

the talk then you need to walk the walk.

Now, should Crystal's Diabetes go away it is going to be a foot race to the

dessert table. (ROFLROFLROFL)

And BTW, Gator Bait, I plan on being around for a long time to come so I can

watch you wrestle those gators. (LOL)

Cy,

Nice going. Hopefully, I can get back down to a reading between 5 and 6

again. I have never had a sweet tooth but gotta have that bagel in the

morning and portion control is really my issue. Still working on it.
