Ferritin should be between 70-90 for women. I would start some iron

supplements pronto, that can cause alot of fatigue by tiself. If you

feel shaky or nausea at th e3 hour mark, you cna move the dosing closer

to gether for a while as this usually helps.

Should I get some 10mg HC next time? Would it be easier to cut in 1/4's?

I have tried iron but have cut to every other day do to diarrhea

issues. Only thing left to drop to see what would be causing the

diarrhea problem would be the Armour. I have had issues since April.

It is important to have the right source of iron so that the body can

process it. When I needed iron supplementation I used

MegaFood DailyFoods Blood Builder which can be found at

http://www.vitacost.com/MegaFoodDailyFoodsBloodBuilder. This is the

site with the most affordable supplement prices I've found.

Yes the 10MG size is much easier to do the smaller dosing. The diarrhea probem

MAY be from low cortiosl, and may correct as you get the reserves in better

shape. Often IBS, Colitis and IBD are all inflammation of the intestinal tract,

cortiosl is thebody's anti-inflammatory hormone. By adjusting my dosages I ahev

been able to control a VERY bad flare up of my own trouble in this area that

this last time was abotu 6 weeks long... YUCK..

What about www.luckyvitamin.com? There prices seem to be a lot less than other

online companies but I'm not sure if they are less than vitacost??

The form least likely to cause bowel problems is Ferrochel (also

called iron bisglycinate). It is bound to amino acids (glycine) at

the molecular level and therefore does not ionize and supposedly

cannot bind to thyroid meds, either. Is even has GRAS standing with

the FDA, whereas other forms of iron can kill you if you

accidentally overdose (like taking a whole bottle at one time.)

Vitacost doesn't sell Gentle Iron, unfortunately. The do sell

Ferrochel, but only 18 mg and taking 10 a day was a bit much for me!

They also have the Source Naturals Ferrochel but it's tablets, which

I don't prefer and it also has folic acid and B12 in it, which is

fine except that for us having to take 6-8 iron pills a day, I think

that is too much folic acid and b12, depending on your multi.

I don't know what they have over at luckyvitamins.com. www.iherb.com

is another place to try, though.

One of the " Now " brand products on this page has 36mg of Ferrochel in each

capsule.

http://www.iherb.com/Search.aspx?c=1 & kw=Ferrochel

(That's quite a bit of iron BTW!)
