Guest guest
Hi All, We had a wonderful time In Massachusetts visiting with my sister and the rest of the clan (I'm the oldest of 8). Phil was in good spirits and excellent health even putting on a few pounds. The Dr. is amazed at the progress he is making. The liver looks good and the colon has improved. He is more like himself than he's been since before Easter (he was diagnosed in June). Those of you who haven't seen Phil since June would be amazed at his progress. He looks like a new man. It just goes to show the power of all those prayers!! Round 3 chemo starts on Oct. 29 (Wednesday) after that I am not sure where we'll go. They have been hesitant to do surgery since the chemo is working so well. The tumor is around the wall rather than blocking the colon so there is not an immediate need yet with an original 16 cm tumor blockage or no it seems like we should look at some form of surgery. I don't know how long he would have to wait to start chemo in that case or what the recovery is like. I want each and every one of you to know how much I appreciate everything you have done or are doing for me and Phil. This is the ray of sunshine in our personal storm knowing the hopes and prayers of all our friends and family being sent our way. The positive sentiments are much needed and appreciated. Thanks to all and God Bless, Narice and Phil
Guest guest
How good to hear how well Phil is doing and great to hear that you had a good time visiting family. I just got back from 9 days in land DC to fill in, between my chemo treatments, at the job I had for 15 years. It was so good to get to work a bit again, and to get back together with old friends. I even ran into my oncologist from there. He had stopped by where I work and I happened to be there when he walked in the door. Although he had no idea I was back in town, he recognized me right away. He was impressed and pleased at how well I was doing. I had decided to move to Wisconsin to be close to my sister when my tumor had started rapidly metastasizing, and he had been quite uncertain that oxaliplatin would work again, since I relapsed within 4 mth of receiving it. Best wishes. Here's prayers that Phil's response continues for a very long time. Guest guest
Narice, Please tell Phil that my prayers are with him. I also want to thank you for replying to one of my posts. I am so happy that people like you and Phil are here and I want to say that it helps to hear that you are not alone. I have been blessed lately. I told everyone at work that I was going to have my liver resected because the cancer is back and they look at me like I have 3 heads. They don't know that is a great thing for colon cancer survivors. Most can't have resection. I know I will have to follow with chemo again and I did the 5FU, Leucovorin and CPT-11 and didn't miss a day of work, so I know I can do it again. I have been told that there is someone " UPSTAIRS " who must love me and I know that there are many up there. God listens and I know that my mom and dad are there pleading my case. Love to all those who have an angel on their shoulder like I do and Thanks to God for hearing our prayers. Jennie > Hello All > > There has not been a lot to report lately. Guest guest
It sure does help to know WE ARE NOT ALONE physically emotionally or spiritually. It is what keeps us going. I am so happy that you CAN have this surgery. I hope your recovery is swift and that you continue to stay one step ahead of this beast. God Bless Narice
Guest guest
Jennie and Narice: My thoughts are with you Jennie, and with you Narice and Phil. It's good to hear that Phil can keep up with work. For my mom, who is actually supposed to be retired, work has been keeping her going. She has always worked - always loved to work, so I'm happy that she has been able to continue. Warm wishes to you all, Laurie
