Guest guest
Hi all - I requested my primary physician to refer me to Dr. Oro for a second opinion, which she did. My HMO paid 90% of the cost. My MRIs are now at Dr. Weingart's ( Hopkins) and my HMO told me they would pay 90% of the bill if I have an appointment or surgery with him. It probably just depends on who the insurance is with. Hope this helps. Yes, Medicare will pay for your meter. You do have to get a prescription from your doctor that says you need the meter, why you need this particular meter and how many test a day you need to do. Most docs will ask you how may tests you want to do and then order them according to what you want to do. You can get the all these through companies that take care of blind needs. If you need insulin or diabetic medication of any kind and syringes or pens, these companies also do that. Here is the company I use: Advanced medical. . . This also called Neighborhood Diabetics.
