Guest guest
Hi All, I had decompression surgery over 4 mos ago and I don't feel any better. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude as I realize the importance. Overall, I don't feel any better than before the surgery. I saw 3 chiari drs that are mentioned on the list. Before that I saw many local neuro and nsg but all did not know what was wrong with me. It's then I started looking elsewhere. Anyway, of the 3 experts, only 1 said it was chiari w/minimal herniation. I had brainstem compression with the vetebral artery pressing on it. He thought the surgery would give me the room I needed back there. So don't know if he was correct with dx and all others were wrong. Since I haven't improved it seems to me that he dx incorrectly. I'm wondering if anyone has seen improvement after ~41/2 mos. I just feel my chances are slim after this long. Would love hearing from anyone that saw improvement late ..Now there is mention again of csf leak. My worst symptom is postural headaches that keep me incapacitated. They are constant but keep intensifying when I am upright. Also, oother symptoms as lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, numbness, tingling. I have this weird pain thats like when you hit your funny bone and get this vibrating, electrical feeling. This is mostly in my head. I could go on and on-----------Anyone heard from Jane in Conroe,Tx? Ginger in Texas
