I believe casein takes a few days to get out of the system at most.

Hang in there . Such a strong reaction means you should see great gains when it is out of your system. Casein does eliminate from the body in just a few days, unlike gluten which can take months. Have you tried Activated Charcoal?

Hi , here is a good explanation of why you are experiencing these symptoms.

I think the opiates actually give you a high like drugs and that is why you have

a hard time when you stop eating/drinking it.

HANG IN THERE, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!

Day three now.I am not able to talk well.I started out with a weird hyper sensory thing in my brain, where I was very aware of my brain activity, not my thoughts,if that makes any sense.Hyperventilation,a lot of hand flapping, vocal stimming, and some head banging and explosive outbursts. The stimming and flapping starts as soon as I get up from the computer, just like during my last major regression.Last night,I passed a massive amount of stuff similar to thishttp://gfcfpoop.blogspot.com/2008/07/bacteria-virus-and-yeast-die-off-oh-my.htmlIn addition to being very drained,I now have a 103 fever, and feel like I may have pneumonia coming on.I don't know if this is related to dieoff,or if this was just too much for my already

deficient immune system to take.I hope I have not triggered a major regression again.I can sort of see why they suggest you do this under a doctor's supervision. Subject: RE: Serious regression from withdrawlTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Thursday, November 5, 2009, 7:28 PM

Not yet.I have read about the stuff that is basically paint that covers the villi in your intestines, and takes 2-3 years to get rid of.With me,it's a case of taking in casein makes me act more normal, and I regress,or deteriorate if I stay away from it.Not the other way around.I don't know how common this is.Of course I have never been at a point where I had been clean of it,and then take it in again. Hi

;

I am very happy to see you in a different list.

I have a 25 years old autistic daughter

who doesn’t communicate, just echolalia. I began methyl B-12, antifungal,

probiotics 1 week ago and all of the sudden she started saying “I want

coffee” “I don’t want to eat”, and other phrases like

those.

I didn’t find any DAN doctor in Miami and all the primaries

doctors used to tell me one way or the other, to put her in a group home and

forget about it because she is already 25 years old and it is too late for her.

I feel like I have the obligation to tell

all mothers, it is NEVER is too late to improve any medical condition.

I am a MD, and the Biochemistry, genetics,

etc that I studied have nothing to do with what we know right now.

That is why I always say: it is not true

that there is no “cure”, we just didn’t found out how, yet.

I wish that this comment gives you a

little more hope and a little relief.

God bless you,

Cabrera-Macias

, I think it is important to keep your doctor informed of these symptoms,

yes. I was researching your symptoms and found this:

http://healthpsych.psy.vanderbilt.edu/Gluten_and_Casein_Free%20Diet.htm

Parents' Evaluations and Warnings

" It is also important to note that even though children show improvements very

quickly often times the children appear to get worse for a period of time as

well. Behavioral problems and physical problems such as fever, diarrhea, and

vomiting have been reported, especially when the diet is implemented suddenly.

This may be due to a sort of withdrawal effect, similar to that of drug addicts.

Thus, the sites promoting the GFCF diet advise that foods be removed gradually

(http://www.gfcfdietsupport.com/begfaq.html). Even with the gradual removal of

foods parents should expect immediate noticeable improvements for a few days

followed by a period of regression. This hard period is said to pass within a

week for younger children and within three weeks for older children and adults.

Even those parents who warn that implementing the diet can be a daunting task,

though, also claim that it is worth any hardships for the benefits it provides

for their child and their family. "

If you continue having the symptoms, I would suggest, like the other poster

said, to take charcoal. I would take it about an hour after meals to clear out

any food that was not digested properly. It can help with gas and bloating

produced from yeast consuming undigested food.

I would also recommend taking vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids with

meals. Take chromium with every meal to help with blood sugar regulation. Take

the water-soluble (Vit B complex, Vit C, Zinc) with one meal and then the

fat-soluble (cod liver oil or Vit A/Vit D, Vit E, Selenium, Carnitine) and EFAs

(coconut oil, flaxseed oil) with the next meal.

Epsom salt baths would be good for you for absorption of magnesium, magnesium is

going to help with your symptoms as well.

If you find it hard to get all the vitamins, minerals and fatty acids down, try

to get the most nutrition you can out of your food by: using a blender or juicer

to puree vegetables and fruits, taking a little lemon juice in water before your

meals to get hydrochloric acid flowing for best digestion, cutting food into

small pieces and chewing very thoroughly before swallowing.

It is important that you avoid sweets and limit carbs at this time because your

body is stressed and your mitochodria are probably having a hard time breaking

down glucose. You can give your adrenals a break and limit fluctuating blood

sugar that causes further stress by doing this.

, that is wonderful that your daughter started saying spontaneous phrases!

My son was on MB-12 for awhile and it helped him socially but not in the area of

speech. What DID help with speech (conversational language specifically), was

this combo:

10,000 IU Vit A

400 IU Vit D

5mg Vinpocetine 2-3 X day

We just started this about a month and a half ago and everybody is noticing

changes in him! (He is 7 by the way)

,Sorry you are having such a hard time. I just wanted to comment on the milk withdrawal. My son has Autism and had horrible withdrawals when we removed his allergen foods. My husband - neurotypical (at least according to him - haha) drinks a lot of milk and says he feels very wierd when he goes without it. He says he feels shaky, gets restless leg syndrome at night, and can't think well. This probably is a big clue that he should not have it. Hang in there. We are all praying for you and are so grateful for your valuable insights. I hope you know how helpful it is for parents to hear what our children may be feeling but can't verbalize. I never realized I needed milk and casein so much.It isn't so much that it causes a behavior,as I need that dairy all the time to act somewhat normal, and I regress if I don't get it.The detox symptoms are going away, but my regression is getting worse.I now have a new verbal stim I scream "filthy dirty addict" over and over again, because that's just what I am.Like heroin, liquor,or cigarettes,I would reach for that ice cream, that jug of milk or that block of cheese as soon as I got up in the morning,to get my mind operating somewhat normally.I had been doing it all of my life.It was second nature,to nibble at cheese or nip at a bottle of chocolate milk all day long.I like the BMs that look like black pudding and smell like curdled milk.I'll think of them whenever I get a craving.I don't know if it has further weakened my immune system or not ,but I

have also developed a chest cold or lung infection since I went off dairy.I have more abdominal fluid too.It certainly does do a body good. The way my brain was racing those first couple of days, gave me some idea of what inspired Lou to write "Heroin".So my questions are how do you get calcium? I'm already deficient, and what can I supplement that would improve my brain function the way casein used to? Would piracetam or carnosine do it?

Just to give you an idea of how good the different "racetams" (aniracetam, piracetam, etc - there are many but these are the most widely available): They've used them in Alzheimer's studies. So yes, it will definitely boost cognitive functioning. My husband has pretty bad ADD issues that is controlled beautifully with it. My own problems with motivation and focus are also controlled well with it. My asd son is also on it. And it doesn't take long to work. In the case of everyone in our house, it works within 30 minutes. You can search Pubmed for some of the studies I think. For calcium, you can take a supp and here's a website that has calcium information in vegetables http://www.citracal.com/Calcium/Foods/Vegetables.aspx . Cheryl~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~@midian42~ I never realized I needed milk and casein so much.It isn't so much that it causes a behavior,as I need that dairy all the time to act somewhat normal, and I regress if I don't get it.The detox symptoms are going away, but my regression is getting worse.I now have a new verbal stim I scream "filthy dirty addict" over and over again, because that's just what I am.Like heroin, liquor,or cigarettes,I would reach for that ice cream, that jug of milk or that block of cheese as soon as I got up in the morning,to get my mind operating somewhat normally.I had been doing it all of my life.It was second nature,to nibble at cheese or nip at a bottle of chocolate milk all day long.I like the BMs that look like black pudding and smell like curdled milk.I'll think of them whenever I get a craving.I don't know if it has further weakened my immune system or not ,but I have also developed a chest cold or lung infection since I went off dairy.I have more abdominal fluid too.It certainly does do a body good. The way my brain was racing those first couple of days, gave me some idea of what inspired Lou to write "Heroin".So my questions are how do you get calcium? Hi , Kale and spinach are good sources of calcium. Can you get raw

buckwheat groats where you are?

This was our experience with the removal of milk, regression. It's rare but it happens. In researching milk I found it was an excellent food with many good properties, we switched to raw without incident. The absorption of calcium from vegetables is low, particularly for children. But milk is a source of tryptophan, methionine and lactoferrin.

Regression when you take a food away doesn't always mean to put it back in.

It's normal to have congestion, even major breathing difficulty for a time once

you remove casein. The body can now cleanse. It's also normal to loose

language or function as you make this major change. As you remove this very

mucus forming food you are removing a source that the infections are hiding in.

It can take many months to years to cleanse layer by layer. Regression is part

of healing. It can be very scary to watch a person regress and it can seem

harmful to remove it as the regression is so strong.

If you do want to keep dairy a step better than raw is do make raw milk

kefir. Body Ecology makes a starter culture you can add to your raw dairy.

I believe best to re-establish gut flora before reintroducing even raw milk

kefir. The first raw cultured dairy to reintroduce when you follow body ecology

is raw butter. Once you've been consuming young coconut kefir for a few weeks

you can start raw butter. We're a 4-5 years into this and still haven't gone

past raw butter, but we likely could have raw milk kefir. I just haven't taken

the time to reintroduce.

Some report that when they took dairy away the fog lifted. Often this came

after weeks of screaming and terrible regression. We were so scared when our

son regressed coming off of dairy. I remember going into our garage and holding

my husband, both of us crying. The only thing we could do to keep our son and

daughter safe at that time was to strap him into his carseat and drive around.

At the time it felt like living hell. We stuck with it though because we

realized that this strong a regression meant that dairy really affected our

child. For us it felt right to stick it out. Otherwise we'd have to live with

our little addict.

Enemas/colonics helpful to speed up detox.
