I just got a new range with a double oven for Christmas and have been cooking up a storm. I find that most things that I make for the family can easily be adapted for low carb (I pick at least 2 new recipes to try each week) and I keep chicken breasts, hamburger patties, sausages, etc in the freezer for those times that they just can't be adapted. A friend of mine just started selling Pampered Chef last year, so I've been making the round of parties picking up a couple of things at each one. Try it if you get a chance. It's caled Good Company. The flavor is enhanced with the flavors of vanilla, hazelnut and cinnamon. It comes decaffinated too. (And I am a confirmed chocoholic, so my opinion must count for something!) I love the Dark, but the Coconut ones also pretty good (I wish they came in Dark w/coconut) and the Milk Chocolate are also good (if you like that sort of thing - I am a Dark Chocolate or nothing fan). I eat these on a regular basis, and I also make low carb Chocolate Chip Cookies with them every week - those are hubby's and mine favorite munchies! (The recipe for the Chocolate Chip Cookies are on the Low Carb Canada site that's in my signature line). I have tried several other bars (Cavalier, Carbolite, Darrel Lea) and these are the best of all, plus they cause me no gas or stomach/gastrointestinal upset like the others do. I am fortunate to live in Canada where these are manufactured and all the local health food stores have them, which means no shipping, exchange, duty or waiting, and I pay anywhere from $1.25 to $1.99 Canadian per bar (which would be 83 cents to $1.33 per bar in US dollars) - so for a change I get something at a better rate than US people, as they are $1.79 to 1.99 US on most US websites! 99% of the time it's the other way around, we pay 1 1/2 times what US people do (plus duty and shipping) for alot stuff that can only be found in the US. But today I went to the healt h food store and there they were. So I bought a couple and also bought some carbolite ones. Well I tasted one and I think it tastes the same as the carbolite ones. First it didn't like my charge card...no confirmation number. THen it timed me out...I have a daycare so I never finish anything in one sitting, then it didn't like the expiration date on my other card...finally it went through. What great customer service! I usually figure 2 weeks for anything by mail anyway, though nowadays many companies are so prompt that things come in a few days. I've gotten really spoiled by that. My fiancée that is not on the plan eats the dark ones sometimes and she says she can't tell the difference. .....Stan What kind of drug store is it? A chain? I don't particularly like coconut, but the bar with coconut is great. They did send one white chocolate, which I don't usually care for much, I thought of doing the same thing, melting it down and putting enough almonds in that it's mostly almonds with the white chocolate coating, it should work. Pure De-lites are made by Ross Chocolates - it's like their brand name or something. I'm sure if you search the wrapper, you'll see probably the Ross name somewhere, unless they printed it differently for the US website sales. I've seen pictures of the wrappers for the Pure Delite Bars on AtkinsFriends and CarbSmart, they are exactly the same wrappers the ones we get here in Canada that are made by Ross (and even some of the wrappers here say " Pure De-lite " on them, but have the Ross logo in the corner or on the back) - so they *are* the same thing! (And I know these wrappers really well right now, I've had about 7 of the Dark delite Bars in the past 3 or 4 days - it's that TOM and I've been having MASSIVE chocolate cravings - Thank God for Ross Bars or I'd die during TOM Chocolate Cravings (and even the rest of the time - I'm a major chocoholic!!) (although I usually don't wolf them down like these past few days - this has been excessive!!)) Before I discovered these bars I would have nookie pudding, chocolate cheesecake or some other Splenda/cocoa concoction - but it never hit the spot like these bars!
