Guest guest
Hi Laurie: I just recently had a colonoscopy myself and they found two pre- cancerous polyps, both on the ride side. As a result, I will have to go back next year. If it would have checked out okay, my doctor would have me come back every two to three years. Just as an added FYI, I have also heard that some recommend every 5 years, if there is no history of colon cancer. However, given that that is not your case, I would definitely have it much sooner. Just my two cents for what they are worth :-). Fondly, Monika > Hello all: > > I hope this post finds you all in good spirits today. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, As you know, my brother has CC at a very young age (32) so all of us (brothers and sisters) had colonoscopy done. And all of us were nagative, so we all were recommanded to go back in 3 years, except my older brother (44 years old) had one polyp removed. He is scheduled to go back for the test every year. We all live in Canada like you and we (10 of us) all have different doctors in different cities but they all seemed to say the same thing (i.e. 3 years). So in your case, I would say 5 years is too long. You should check back with your doctor about this. Regards, Loc > > Hello all: > > > > I hope this post finds you all in good spirits today. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Our Gastro doctor told us he used to recommend every 5 years but has now changed his way of thinking. He suggests every 3 years now. Joyce > Hello all: > > I hope this post finds you all in good spirits today.
