New to list with a question

Hi,

My dad had surgery (resection) last Monday, and they ended up

removing a large

polyp and a small cancerous growth. He was released on Saturday and

is at home

recuperating and doing pretty well. I'm worried though because he

has a large

amount of swelling (he says his abdomen is about 9 inches larger than

it was before

surgery) and he also has some purple discoloration in his " lower

regions " . Is this

common after such a surgery or should we be concerned?
