I can see why you would be upset. First that this person blabbed and

then someone you hardly know to call you about it. I think all you

can really do is what you have already done. I would try not to let

it get you to upset. Its not worth the stress.

Hi

Everyone,

I just

received a telephone call that really upset me. and I are on a

committee that raises funds for Ethiopian Jews, some of you may remember

Project Salomon which rescued thousands of Ethiopians and transported them to

Israel. Basically this is a continuation of that project in which we

raise money to educate the Ethiopians to help them live in a modern

society.

Anyway,

we're supposed to have a board meeting in our home in July, I sent out an email

to someone saying that I didn't know if I was going to attend because of

everything I have been through since October; I further explained about

the miscarriage, ep, surgery, IVF, and pregnancy. I was confiding in this

individual and in no way gave permission to have my medical history made

public. I just received a phone call from someone I met once last year

expressing his thoughts on my life. To say I was rude is probably an

understatement, I think it was obvious that I didn't appreciate the phone call

and just sent an email to the person who blabbed.

Would

anyone else be mad about this? I am just so upset....

Wow, what an intrusion, but if you didn't mention that it should be kept confidential that person may have only shared it with another out of concern for you (trying to remain strength focused). It is impossible to second guess someone's motives so why don't you just ask the person who shared such personal information why they did it?

Hi Pam,

You're right, it's not worth the stress! I've had a stomach ache all

afternoon thinking about it!!!!

Unfortunately I went into work and discussed it with , I was a bit

out-of-control (which is definitely not like me, especially in a

professional setting); to make a long story short, he sent me home! He was

right though, I was in no condition to be around clients.

I just talked to a good friend (who's also on the board) for about an hour,

she was really helpful also.

Thanks for your support!!!!!

I would be upset too! I guess the only thing is if you didn't tell the

person to keep it to themselves sometimes they won't. Unfortunately

lots of people sensationalize news like that and LOVE to gossip! I know

my boss found out I was pg this last time from his wife who found out at

her sorority meeting!!! (I guess I was mentioned in the " new business "

part of the meeting!)

Hi Dana,

I thought about that also, but I did mention how delicate of a subject it was and also that we didn't need any help planning the meeting. In fact, I told her twice that we were fine and she still felt the need to call a total stranger and invite him into my home to take over. Maybe it's just hormones, but I find that very offensive, especially coming from someone I've never met in person!

Thank you for presenting another side though.

I fully intend to stay away. What's ironic is that she's still sending me daily emails justifying why she did what she did. Most of her reasons are because of things that I never said or implied. Without ever meeting us or knowing a thing about us, she made a decision that we are incapable of anything and called people to come into my home and take over! I find it a bit bizarre because if I need to delegate anything I have an entire staff that I know and trust, why would I go along with having a stranger come into my home, just because she thinks it's a good idea??????

Hi ,

Below is my responce....

,If you truly understand the pain of pregnancy loss you would realize that itis not a topic to be discussed lightly - especially with someone I don'teven know and then to have that person call me is highly inappropriate. Before retiring to get married I was the youngest CFO of a Fortune 500company in the country, prior to that I ran a $60m company; is avery intelligent capable professional also, between the two of us I'm surewe're capable of handling a small gathering. And, as I mentionedpreviously, if we find that we need help we will ask - please try to respectthatm.

Now her latest responce....

> I guess I got the wrong impression when you e-mailed me that you thoughtthe> parlor meeting was going to be too much for you to handle right now.

Then my responce.....

If I recall correctly, my response was that I didn't feel this was a goodtime. I never commented on whether it was too much to handle or not, thatmay have been your interpretation.

That's a great idea, unfortunately she send out most of the info for the committee so I can't take her off my email. I asked her to drop the topic and said I didn't want to speak about it any further, but that hasn't seemed to work (though her responses are getting shorter).

Hi Dominique,

Thanks for the support! I think the only reason that I wasn't yelling was

because it was all over the internet and it allowed me time to calm down

before responding. If the conversation happened in person or over the

telephone I don't think I would have been as calm.

How are you doing?
