Keisha,

I knew it would happen. Congratulations!!!!

After a 3 week stall I have been steadily losing, about .5 lb. a day.

Thanks Dwen, Rhonda and everyone else! It was hard and that 1.5 pds

was a stubborn one, but its gone and I am happy! I am kinda feeling

like Danette though, getting kinda tired of food cause I feel like I

have to eat the same things. I am so tired of SALAD! No matter how

I make it now (and I am very creative) its getting to me! I need

some help in the vegetable dept. I love brocolli and I tolerate

green beans, but nothing else Dr. A suggests. Anyone got any

ideas...I have to lose more weight before my trip on the 23rd. I am

going home to New York to see my parents. I want them all to be

surprised!!! Its exactly 2 weeks from tomorrow...any ideas for quick

weight loss? Not so quick that it doesn't stay with me though...but

like suggestion menus to help me! Thanks guys...Keisha

Have you tried turnips? I am not a big fan of veggies either ( and

Kirstie will attest to that LOL) but I have recently added turnips to my

routine of broccoli and green beans.

How do you prefer to cook your brocolie and green beans? Also do you have a

quantity?

Marlena,

No I haven't tried turnips either. I saw some of the posts that have

been going on for a few days about the turnips, but I didn't copy any

down. Do they really taste like potatoes? I wouldn't know a turnip

if it walked up and started talking to me! (LOL) So someone might

need to supply me with some recipes and a description of them!

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I will try them and let you all

know! 14 days and counting....(until my trip) Keisha

Fleurette,

I usually steam my broccoli, but not until it is mushy because then

you lose your nutrients. I add a little seasoning and sometimes I

even cover them with a cheese sauce. As for the green beans, I

usually buy them in a can and just boil them on the stove adding salt

and pepper and maybe a little butter. I know, none of it is hard,

but it is tasty! :) smile....hope this helps! Keisha

That sounds great ! You've missed a couple of things on the carb

counts though, so I looked them up in the USDA database which is the best

carb counting resource I've found:

http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/cgi-bin/list_nut.pl

bacon - 3 medium slices - 0.112 (0 fiber) (bacon counts vary depending on

brand - check your package - my brand has 0.3 for 3 slices)

beans, snap, green, raw - 10 beans (4 inches long) - 3.927 carbs (1.870 of

which are fiber)

onions, raw - 1 tablespoon, chopped - 0.863 carbs (0.180 of which are fiber)

Soup, cream of chicken, canned, condensed, commercial - 1 tablespoon - 1.158

(.031 of which are fiber)

Still a great recipe at 6.06 carbs (2.081 of which are fiber for a net count

of 3.979 effective carbs for those who deduct).

Kirstie

aka " the carb police " ;)
