Guest guest
Maybe someone else on the board can advise you on this. I just asked our DAN doctor for a copy of the test so I will know more of the information I see written on the these posts. Re: verbal stimming I wouldn't have even considered casein was still in your daughter's diet since you were so doing so much bio med..I think it would definitely be beneficial to stop completely.. I know all our kids are different but definitely worth a try..removing it for us did wonders> > > >> > > > My 7 yr. old daughter has a verbal stim that is becoming more pronounced. She talks under her breath, in a whisper tone, nearly all the time. I can hear her doing this whether I'm in the same room as her or in another room in the house. It seems that she can't help it, or stop herself for more than a few moments. She does this even when someone is speaking, either to her or to someone else nearby. It is constant, from the time she wakes up until she goes to sleep. She is verbal, but does not have typical spontaneous speech. She answers questions, makes requests, can tell you an event that occurred during the day, but again, not spontaneous conversational speech. Her comprehension is delayed, and often when I hear her talking in that whisper tone, what she is saying doesn't make sense to me, just a few words mixed with sounds strung together. When I ask her what she said, she will repeat it for me ("go tell them", "cross the street", etc.) and even try to give me an explanation of what her 'phrase' meant. > > > > > > > > Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Guest guest
When following the Specific Carb Diet, they want you to make the yogurt from scratch...including the almond milk. So we don't make yogurt from store-bought Almond Breeze. I have not made it in almost a year, and before I try again I'd like to find a yogurt starter without strep strains. Anyone? Almond milk in general is delicious (I think), but if you want the benefits of adding probiotics to your son's diet (Bernice), you need to change it into yogurt. Hope that helps. Guest guest
Okay, so understand that I could be talking out of my rear end on this one as I've never made yogurt before! But I always thought you could make yogurt with any kind of probiotic, not necessarily something that was specifically labeled a "yogurt starter". *If* this is true, and there's no guarantee it is, then you could have one made through Custom Probiotics or you could use the probiotic that you normally use without strep strains. I'm sure someone with more yogurt knowledge can step in here better than I can! Guest guest
yes typically the PANDAS Is beta, BUT we are seeing patterns in kids with PANDAS showing signs FIRST with gamma in the stools. VERY consitantly. infact I don't think I have found ONE kid with out it showing up first. not sure why or how it corrilates just a pattern I have noticed. where did you find yours??? it can be the body just stops fighing and winning against strep so it shows up first with a weak one and then moves onto others???OLE is olive leaf extract. 500 mgs 3 times a day did the trick in our house for awhile Re: verbal stimming I wouldn't have even considered casein was still in your daughter's diet since you were so doing so much bio med..I think it would definitely be beneficial to stop completely.. Guest guest
OLE won't get rid of PANDAS but will get rid of strep and calm a flare. if you have PANDAS you have it for life, it just flares and calms. it takes 6-8 weeks for titers to skyrocket for testing after onset of symptoms. it calms after taking meds....which you would retest in about 6-8 weeks again to see what is working\\ Re: verbal stimming I wouldn't have even considered casein was still in your daughter's diet since you were so doing so much bio med..I think it would definitely be beneficial to stop completely..I know all our kids are different but definitely worth a try..removing it for us did wonders> > > >> > > > My 7 yr. old daughter has a verbal stim that is becoming more pronounced. Guest guest
My son caught a cold and I believe it was bacterial. His stimming increased dramatically. Would that be PANDAS. His probiotics do not contain any strep lines. > > > > > > > > > > My 7 yr. old daughter has a verbal stim that is becoming more pronounced. Guest guest
Colds are almost always viral. He could have caught something called Mycoplasma PANDAS is from strep it is associated with an acute onset of OCD like behavior so its unlikely PANDAS Any infection can cause increases in stimming Try Olive leaf extract for a week or two > > > > > > > > > > > > My 7 yr. old daughter has a verbal stim that is becoming more pronounced. If its PANDAS, has anyone been successful at getting rid of PANDAS? If so, what route did they take? Guest guest
colds are viral, strep would be bacteria, and stimming with strep or OCD things can be PANDAS so always good to test. it would also require antibiotics to go away....it wouldn't go away on it's own Re: verbal stimming in response to a mom who commented My son caught a cold and I believe it was bacterial.
