Could it be a form of the word invaginate? Invaginate means to enclose or

sheathe. I tried to find

the word " invaginous " but no luck. Maybe she is " sheathed " or " enclosed " by her

depression...

This rang my bell because I had it in one of my practice dictations the other

day.

It was used thusly: " Mass over the right zygoma. General study is normal,

although there is

hypoaeration of the right mastoid region, not soft tissue disease in it or in

the middle ear,

suggesting a chronic, perhaps inactive space. This does not extend into the

zygomatic arch, and is

probably 12 mm in diameter. It just invaginates the superolateral margin of the

orbits, although

this is so minimal as not to be visible on a coronal section. "

This taught me that forms of the word vagina could have a meaning other than

just the one we are

accustomed to. Anyway, just a thought!
