Guest guest
I heard about Lexapro by someone else recently. I just started the Zoloft and still at the low dose, so I guess I should at least give it a try. Between the Elavil and Zoloft at night at least I am sleeping. When I think about the progression of the disease and where I am to end up is when I really start on the crying jag. I cry at alot of shows also. Thanks for the info on Lexapro.. Maybe that will be the next on I try if this doesn't work. If I can wait 2 years,,we can get Neruodex. LOL>>> Sherry
Guest guest
Sherry & Vaughn I also had the crying and laughing problem. Had to be careful watching TV. When I didn't cry I would laugh so hard I would start to cough and choke. I had to do something about it so I contacted to see what he was taking. I showed it to my neuro and he approved it. But then I had problem mixing that with my heart medication. So I went back to my neuro and told him that some of you were having good success with Zoloft or Prozac. I told him that I wanted it mainly for crying, and if possible for laughing and startle reflex. I would be willing to try what ever he recommended. Right before Christmas I went on 5MG of Lexapro for 8 days then 10MG once a day. Two weeks after I started we were watching a movie on TV after the movie I looked at Lois and said " I never even shed a tear. " Since then I've watched two hours Americas Funniest Videos. Watched any thing that was on TV. I haven't shed any tears or coughed and choked from laughing. I might have come close to tears but haven't cried at every silly little thing. With the surgery Lois had I never would have able to talk to anyone about the surgery. Last week I talked someone at the post office and told them all about the surgery. I NEVER would have been able to do that 3 months ago. I think it might have helped some with my startle reflex but not much. All in all I am very happy with it. Lexapro is a new drug for depression approved in August of 2002. Several weeks someone in the group said they were taking it for depression. http://www.lexapro.com/ M. L. > If I start crying, it is a whole day of not being able to stop. Then if I try to be stress importance or be serious,,,I start laughing and it looks like I think the whole situation is funny. I get so tired of the crying thing. You cant talk,,you can't breathe, makes things so much worse. I have been on Elavil at night and Zoloft for almost a month now. Had my meds changed. Things have been improved somewhat. >
