Guest guest
Hi , IMHO, Free T3 shows you how much usable T3 is cirulating around in your bloodstream...Does this give us a tool to see if there is a conversion going on??? Yes, I think so. Some of us have to take mega doses of Synthroid to get an adequate amount of Free T3 cirulating around in the body. Others, only a tiny bit is needed to get the Free T3 within the correct levels for their body. Guest guest
If you take your meds the morning of your labs it will show your blood levels falsely high... so wait until after... Explain that since you are on T4 you're concerned with your symptoms and how well your body is converting it to usable hormone. Without testing Free T3 along with the Free T4 there is no way to know if your body is converting adequately... Taking care of these things properly now will save a lot of problems on down the road... that's why you want these tests done so that you can keep on top of things. And, while on the subject, you want copies of all your labs to keep in your emergency file at home. If that doesn't work... send me a ticket (plain, bus, train, I don't care) and I'll come and whomp doc butt!!!! hehehehehe Topper () On Mon, 06 Jun 2005 14:34:40 -0000 "tresckow1936" writes: I am still having a problem, particularly with my bowels...I have a script from my endo for blood work that I am going to have done on Friday.. but all it asks for is TSH & FreeT4..I called her office to ask her to also request FreeT3 and the receptionist said "she does not do that test" and I said "Well. I would like her to"....so she is supposed to call me...anything specific I should tell her if she gives me a hard tiem?....also, I understand you should not take Synthroid before blood work...I have never done that, but I will this time.
