The 24 hour pee thing gives a fairly good average of what the blood sugars are like over 24 hours without all the blood-letting, LOL. Well--12 weeks ago Denny's ferritin was fine and now it's in the 140's, too. His went up because of the anemia--the RBC's breaking down and the iron being released. Are you anemic at this point? I'm sure there are other reasons, too, but that's what his is. I think I love your new Doc! ((((hugs)))) Kathy What Doc is doing Well, it's been a long time since I've had all the tests this doc is giving me.....I just finished the 24 hour pee test and took it to the hospital....Now this test is truly stupid in my opinion....But then my opinion is worthless...LOL..... This Friday I have to go for a spiral chest cat scan.....This is because I have had blood clots before, but because I have the coil on my vena cava that is suppose to catch them, no one has really paid attention.....That coil has been there since 1968.....But I have also thrown clots since then.....Same pain, etc..... Then on Tuesday, the 2nd, I have to go in for a carotid artery scan, due to TIA's, and a liver, kidney scan......Had more blood work done.... Kathy, has this every happened to Denny.....One ferritin shows 43 (mine) which is excellent, and six weeks later it shows 146.... Now this is really a quick rise.....Will have it tested again soon.....Has Denny's ever shown such a quick rise?..... My Hep C hasn't come back yet....Nor has my EKG, and several other tests that she should have gotten back right away.....My chest xray showed my heart was enlarged again....She is going to send me to 's heart doctor....I may have to have an angiogram, both for the heart and the cartoid artery in the neck.....Years ago the cartoid was checked with an angio and showed a percentage of blockage, but not enough to do anything..... She is also going to put me on comidin again....She did put me on a medication that you take three times a day to help prevent angina pain, but if you get it you still have to use your nitro.... I think I like this doctor.....She is very thorough with every little thing.....She's not afraid to run the tests.....She doesn't ignore..... It sounds like you're in good hands! How's ? Does he like his docs? Have they all said the same thing about his heart?
