Guest guest
And, don't forget it is important to keep your skin moisturized to help it remain/become as elastic as possible..dry skin is more likely to just hang there. I tried that new "in shower" moisturizing conditioner...it is nice, but I think my regular hair conditioner works on skin just as well...and cost alot less! Baby oil before you dry off works really well too. Oh yeah, and baby oil helps get all that adhesive residue off from the tape on our skin too. I did that before my shower today...BIG HUGS, AND GOD'S BLESSINGSDawnita May10/05/05218/209/135"before" photos at: http://dawnita1961.myphotoalbum.com/
Guest guest
This is just my personal opinion ... FIND ANOTHER SURGEON. There are surgeons out there who are willing to bill the insurance company .. and accept what the insurance company gives them. Let's face it .. they make HUGE money on MOST of their patients doing cosmetic work. Some are willing to do patients like us because they want to help us ... I found one that didn't charge me anything other than my copay out of pocket. There have to more out that will also. At the very least your insurance company should cover the hernia repair. in GA > > Hi, > I went to a Plastic Surgeon today. I have an appt with another one in > a few weeks. Guest guest
Thanks for the information. I thought they would apply a portion to the hernia surgery. I have it well documented about the rashes etc. This doctor said he would do some lipo with the tummy tuck, just wouldnt do a LBL. You are lucky that you have a well respected PS in your area. I still have another local appt to go. If I dont like him...I will go looking out of town. But probably not in the south. I live in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks. Guest guest
Jen, I don't think you have posted enough information for anyone to give you an answer. What is your diagnosis? Sounds like scleroderma but that is a guess. That said, I am a scleroderma whose tests have all come back negative for one and a half years. After such a long period of time, I did have plastic surgery as when I looked into the mirror, I still SAW a sick person so we made me look more rested. It was strictly cosmetic ONLY when I was doing really well. I would not press forward with plastic surgery to hide a SYMPTOM OF A DISEASE. Instead, I would work hard to get well. ps Would really like to know more about you here.
Guest guest
Hey Jen! I was just reading recently about collagen and autoimmune disorders. Turns out you can actually give a rat an autoimmune disorder by injecting foreign collagen. Makes sense. If it would not be your own collagen being placed there I would say don't do it! I also read recently about a possible link in a few cases of dermatomyositis caused by silicone breast implants. I would be very hesitant to have anything implanted in my body given my condition. So sorry you're suffering from the mouth tightness. Hope there is a better solution! Good luck, Emma
Guest guest
YIKES. I'd try to get to the root of the problem, not " fix " it that way. I wish I had been more thorough and aggressive with my symptoms years ago. I deteriorated gradually and put up with it. Now I can barely walk. (I have dermatomyositis. Sounds to me like you have that or - more likely- schleraderma. Guest guest
I just dont understand why so many women want to look like they have had their upper lip hammered. Or like they have been sucking on something that made their lip swell, many of them look like they have duck lips, and the top lip never moves.......it is nasty nasty nasty !
