Guest guest
I weighed 328 at surgery and I have exercised my rear end off. I have also lifted weights, etc. I went to the gym 5 days per week for the first 8 months, now 3x per week at least. I do the advanced aerobics classes. I still have tons of loose skin. I am young too and that still didnt help. I was hoping to avoid the plastic surgery, but my belly is all shriveled looking and I do have a pannus that hangs over my down below my pubic bone. My arms are horrible, I have at least 4 inches of wrinkled skin that just hangs down. Hope this helps to answer your question -- In @y..., " justdave " <justdave@m...> wrote: > just wanted to ask if you all excercised was it walking or weight lifting > or did you not do any and how many times approx a week did you do this > hearing about the plas surg--- has me wondering if i will end up having to > go that way too ?? i started out at before surgery 290+ and date of surg > 267 di > Re: Plastic Surgery > > > > Yes,, Liz, Partners through the gov't is covering my thigh and tummy > tuck!! > > They agreed for the tummy right away and when the surgeon called them they > > agreed on the thighs too. Guest guest
Botox shots are botulism shots that are injected into wrinkles, etc. to smooth them out. Actually, they go into muscles that are partially " paralized " so they don't cause the wrinkles, or muscles that spasm, etc. They are not permanent and have to be redone periodically. Good for frown lines, etc. Pat Re: Plastic surgery > I also have partners hmo of nc and they approved tt with no problem, > they denied my arms saying it was more cosmetic in nature.(I have > appealed it though) so there is hope. Guest guest
Sue, Could you please let me know what doctor you are thinking of going to in Costa Rica. I am suppose to have a tummy tuck here in Connecticut on Dec. 19th and I am paying out of pocket. I was just looking at the prices for the same procedure in Costa Rica and it is almost 50 percent cheaper than in the United States. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Sorry but I will not be attending the Holiday Party or the Mini Convention. I volunteered to be the cook for the Christmas Dinner at my church since I now can be in the kitchen and not eat everything in sight. Also we have a young congregation of which my husband and I are the oldest members(I am 53 and he is 58) and none of them knows how to figure the food quantities for 100 people or to bake a turkey or ham and make dressing. The meal is on Sunday and Friday and Saturday will be prep days. I am planning on being at the next support group meeting wherever it in January. Guest guest
SUE, WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!! You go girl. Isn't it great! what a rebirth! will you be at the holiday party????????? Plastic Surgery Well, I have done it. I had a face lift on Monday after Thanksgiving and am thrilled with the results. The doc said if I was happy now, just wait until 2 months and I should be estatic. I struggled with having the face lift or the tummy tuck first and decided that my face showed all the time and I could cover up the tummy for a while longer. It is so wonderful not to having sagging cheeks and the wrinkled skin under my chin. I am scheduled to a satellite TV media tour in February for my job and hope to be ravishing on camera. BTW the tummy tuck is scheduled for March/2002 so I can wear those huggy T's this summer. It will be the first summer that I have not had to wear something to hide my mid section. My daughter has recently commented on my turkey neck...and I don't think it had anything to do with Thanksgiving! LOL! Guest guest
Suzanne, I recently got approval from my insurance company to have my arms and breasts done. I knew from the get-go that I would have to go into this thing armed to the teeth. So what I did was that several months ago I started getting a yeast infection under the pannus and breasts. We were in Florida and doing a LOT of walking and it was hot, so I did not treat it, but just let it go. I took a hot bath (you know what that does to a yeast infection) and then had my husband take pictures of the infection under my pannus and breasts. I also have called or went and seen my PCP everytime I got one, so that they would have documentation. Once when I saw my GYN, I showed her a place under the pannus that was real red, and she had that documented. I saw an orthopedic doc about the pain in my shoulders, neck and upper arms. He x-rayed and said there was no apparent problems, so I asked if he thought the pain could be coming from my hanging breasts and arms (they are huge). He said yes, and I asked if he would write a letter stating that fact. He did, and I got a letter from my PCP, my GYN, and one from a dermatologist. I took copies of all these, along with the photos to the plastic surgeon who filed with insurance. I got approval in a week for the breast and arms, which is what I want done first. I'm sure I will have no problems with the tummy tuck, which will come later. The legs....I do not know. However, I did tell the docs about having had a yeast infection behind the knees where the skin hangs, and that was mentioned in a couple of their letters, so we will see. I wish you luck with your fight. Just arm yourself with plenty of ammunition to prove that it is a medical necessity and NEVER use the word plastic or cosmetic surgery. It is Reconstructive Surgery and make sure all doctors use those terms! Good luck! Custer from VA plastic surgery > I have a question regarding plastic surgery and insurance paying for it. Guest guest
Where are your scars and how do they look now? With the lower body lift, were you pleased? One last question, do you know what they charged for each procedure? Thanks Deb -- " juliewmson " <jwmson1@...> wrote: I can't tell you specifically anything about BCBS of NC but I can tell you that it is possible to get these surgeries paid for -- because UHC paid for all four of these for me. In fact, I had a lower body lift in 02/03, a thigh lift in 03/03 and a breast lift/arm lift in 11/03. You HAVE to do your homework though. I spent literally about 6 months documenting things. I went to my PCP any time I had the slightest problem with my skin. I went to a dermatologist and documented all skin problems - including a condition called hidradenitis in skin creases which are actually blocked sweat glands and can be a major source of infection (in fact this lead to my mother's death almost 5 years ago). I also went to an orthopedist and documented arthritis in my low back, neck and both hips. I was referred to physical therapy for this also. I got letters from each of these physicians along with office notes and submitted them along with the physical therapy notes when my surgeon submitted for approval of the procedures. It is worth the time and effort on your part (as well as finding a surgeon who is willing to be something other than self-pay!) - you can at least in some cases get the procedures paid for. I am very glad I worked hard at approval! in GA MGB 10/04/00 > Hello everyone, > > I had my surgery on 12/20/00 and am now on my way on the plastic surgery journey. I do have lots of back problems. Any advise?? Thanks Tammy > >

I'm interested in face, thigh, arm, butt & tummy tucks. Has anyone gone out of the country and if so, where. How old are you and what was the recovery process from this cosmetic surgery (I'm frightened that it's much worse than MGB recovery). How much can be done at once? You can see that I'm into future-think because I'm only 2-1/2 months out (52 lbs down) and it's already clear that I'm going to need " skin removal " when I get down as far as I can.
