Guest guest Posted March 28, 2001 Report Share Posted March 28, 2001 Hi Joanne, Let's see.....with Matt my water broke at 5:30 am, we went to the dr. to confirm that my water did break at 10:00 and went to the hospital at 11:00, he was born at 8:30 pm, but hard labor was only from about 2:00 pm to 5:30 (when I had an epidural) With Andy, we went to a wedding in a town an hour away that Saturday night and I started having contractions that I could time about 7 minutes apart, well, they went away when we got to the reception and didn't really come back until early that next morning, still about 7 minutes apart and not really painful, just timeable. We got up and went for a walk (about a mile) took Matt to the park to play and about noon dropped him off at Grandma's and headed for Omaha (where the hospital is) Contractions were still not painful, just timeable....we ate Taco Bell for lunch, went to my sister's apartment, watched TV, walked another mile or so, went to the store my sister was working at and walked around a bit, went back to the apartment and both took a nap....ordered pizza for dinner...(should I admit this??? we did the bd to try to get labor going....tee hee (blush)..) ate pizza, still contractions were not getting harder or more painful OR closer together...this is still Sunday. Finally at 10:00 pm we told my sister we were going home to go to sleep, well on the interstate on the way home, guess what, contractions 4 minutes apart and they HURT! So we got home (a 20 mile trip) called the dr. and came back in, checked into the hospital at 11:30 and contractions stopped! They kept me because I was at 4 cm, broke my water and Andy was born at 2:00 am. Blake....I woke up at 7:00 am with one HUGE contraction that lasted about 30 seconds! then I continued to have them every two minutes while I took a shower and got ready for work, from 7:00 to about 7:45 they were timeable but didn't hurt all that bad, by 8:00 I was hurting....we left for the hospital @ 8:30, checked in about 9:00 and he was born at 10:30 am. So, that's the story....Andy's labor was really weird, I thought I'd do it without the epi until after they broke my water then OH BOY! Send for the anesthesioligist!!! Blake's was really fast, but no break because of the 2 minutes apart thing....I really enjoyed Andy's the most, and of course the last couple of hours of Matt's. It will be interesting to see what happens this time! Contraction 5 minutes apart would be nice (ha ha!! like that will really FEEL nice!! ) I bet dominoes couldn't beat you on a delivery next time either, you'll have to try it!! I've found the people I least expect to be the most supportive and those I'd expect support from to have the annoying comments. Go figure? The vibrating cushion for the car seat is fabulous! Joanne, RJ sounds so cute! I was reading " What to Expect When You Are Expecting " , and I put the book on my stomach for a minute, and the book moved. I told , to look, and he thought I was crazy until he saw the book move all over the place. That is when I first showed the girls then if became a daily thing where they would ask me, " Mommy have the baby make the book move " . They actually enjoyed that more than feeling the baby move. I am having a contration here and there today but nothing that hurts bad or is getting close together, urghhhhhhhhhh I want this baby out!! When it kicks I'm like, come out here and do that!! Rj has always loved to eat since birth, so I knew that solid feedings would be a breeze, as I am sure you will experience with Matt. I am finding it more difficult to be on line myself. I try when it is quiet, because I am guilty of ignoring everyone too many times. So I try when I am alone or everyone is sleeping. We got a final offer yesterday. It looks like we may take this one.
