Guest guest
Dear , I'll be watching to see what kind of an answer you get to that question of the purple, black and blue fingers, no injury. I have the same thing happen, they do hurt. I have had it happen to my toes too, and that is worse. It ahppens wen I wring out the dish cloth, or in just washing my face, or just walking across the floor, the toes start to hurt, and the black and blue coloring is there, and the pain accompanys it. I'll be praying for you. Hugs and Healing thoughts, Love Ardie

Guest guest
& anyone else with this problem, I posted something about this the other day. I DON'T know if this is the situation or not, but it could be Cutaneous Vasculitis. If so, you need to see the doctor ASAP. This is what Dr. J. Wallace has to say in his book: The Lupus Book (page71). Inflammation of the superficial blood vessels (those near the skin) is known as cutaneous vasculitis. Seen in up to 70% of patients with lupus during the course of their disease, this finding is a reminder that more aggressive management may be required in some individuals. These lesions often appear as red or black dots or hard spots that are frequently painful. If untreated, cutaneous vasculitis can result in ulceration, or breakdown of the skin. This may lead to gangrene or dead, black skin... Vasculitic lesions are not limited to the fingertips or ends of the toes; systemic vasculitis may produce ulcers on the trunk of the body or on the extremities. I have this problem, but so far it hasn't caused any difficulty. Mine are on my legs, arms, chest and back. Mine don't hurt and so far none of them have had any change in appearance. - - In no way am I giving you a diagnosis. I am just telling you that what you are describing sounds a lot like Cutaneous Vasculitis. If it is or isn't, you need to see your doctor ASAP and tell him about it so you can get a definite diagnosis. Hugs - a Bsbheme wrote: -Hi Ardie- Well, that makes three of us.
