First it was my hips (got a new mattress, started sleeping with a pillow between my knees, added exercises to strengthen hips), then my little fingers started doing the same thing. If I sleep on my back, my hands are dead cold and sensation-less when I wake up. I don't know if it's GD, weight gain, age, or what--but I do have a doctor's appt. this week and will ask. It's really bothering me. One thing I've found with endo's though, is that if it's not a " major symptom " they don't know much. I worry that some of it is caused by osteoporosis starting, and maybe some constricting along the spine. But my imagination runs wild. I will be asking to get a bone density test done, for sure. What do the archives say (or was this on another list?)? Also, for fellow sufferers of this symptom, when I had it, the hand that fell asleep was not the hand I slept on and I think that was common among us too. Anyway that's in the pass. If it doesn't work I am refusing to have it doena second time. Also I am chaning docs asap. The problem is it takes at least 2-3 month before you can be seen. I'm going to see a new doctor in Houston, Texas. Again thank and I think there is hope and a better future for me with this disease. ANd hopefully within a year or two having a baby will be possible. I was wondering if anyone's sex drive went down. Sex just does not phase me at all. Being married I hate I'm not there for my husband. I think he thinks he has done something or I just don't want to be with him. He feels rejected. I mentioned it to my doc and it did not seem to be a concern to her. I have been diagnosed with the hyper part-I have an arrhymia, my heart beats fast, irritabity, nervousness but... then I have freezing hands and feet and this problem with my hands or feet falling asleep when I sleep. You may have more than one thing going on...or maybe your ATD's aren't enough, or too much...you couldn't take the beta blocker could you? That really will make a huge difference in the heart palps until the ATD's kick in. When was the last time you had labs and when are you scheduled again? You could always call and request labs now too. It does take time for all of this to settle down in the beginning, so don't give up hope! My first endo told me if the first one didn't do what it was suppose to, in 6 mos. to a year I would have to do it again. Out of the 3 (TSH, T3 and Free T4), only 1 was in the normal range. I go again for my second post-RAI bloodwork on 10/18. I will let you know. The post-RAI recovery is different for everyone. I am on a low dose of ATD's (25 mg 2 times a day) because the Doc thinks we are catching it in the early stages ( I don't feel that way though). No, I really couldn't tolerate the beta blockers. I had blood work in the end of August started the ATD's on September 17 th and go back for blood work in a week and see the Endo a week later. I really don't know how you all deal with so well, I feel like a mess- i have an ok day then a bad day and then I cry for a day and then I wonder if any of these Doctor's really know what's wrong with me. The more you know and understand, the easier it is to understand what is going on with your body. I still have bad days, days when I don't want to even get out of bed, but my days are so much better than they were 2 years ago before even beginning to learn about GD, and better yet this past year with my new endo...I still have a ways to go but do believe I will get there sooner than later now that I take an active part in my treatment...you will to one of these days Also, helping new people even a little bit with understanding what is going on, and knowing what you and they are going through, helps me too. Many are the times I can't answer a question but can let them know they aren't alone in this anymore. Finding people who have gone through what I was going through, people who truly know about this disease was a huge weight off my shoulders...I wasn't alone anymore.
