Guest guest
Ronnie, My mother-in-law swore by camphorated oil!! You can't buy it anymore but she swabbed it all over anybody who had a cold or sore throat. It's outlawed now but you can buy spirits of champhor. Have you seen a doctor? And for your information, I CAN make a pretty good soup. But I'm not wild about cooking anymore....I'm just wild. Vivian

Guest guest
Sorry to hear you are 'under the weather' Ronnie. Guest guest
Well, the problem has never been in the making of........I just can't seem to get you to serve it. I know all about camphorated oil. I bought all I could find when I heard it was being outlawed several years ago. Spirit of camphor I can't find. It will kill a cold sore faster than anything but it burns like....well, you know where the eternal fires are. I hate smelling like camphor but maybe I should go look for it. Remember Camphor Ice in the metal tube? Best thing in the world for chapped lips. Yes, I went to the doctor on Tuesday. I knew it was coming, but he didn't seem to think there was much wrong. Gave me some meds in case I started to feel worse...I started them right away. I know this body. I knew I was fixin' to be sick. Now here it is. I just feel so weak. It is a chore to move let alone try to do anything. I can't even cook and eat and that's what I do best. Ronnie Re: Vivian/ Ronnie's cold > Ronnie, > My mother-in-law swore by camphorated oil!! Guest guest
Flora, This is what I use all the time and also run the vaporizer. And it will really break up the cold. Another thing I did when I was young was mom would heat up a flannel piece of material with Vicks on it and pin it to my pj top. This really works. Jane Anne King Re: Vivian/ Ronnie's cold Ronnie, Since we are giving advise on your cold....try vicks vapor rub on your chest if you can stand it . Guest guest
Flora, It sure does work. I did a similar thing to my kids when they were small...I put the Vicks on a cloth and put it under their pillow so they wouldn't be in direct contact with the Vicks. Guest guest
Ronnie, I have been unable to read my email for a few days. Too much going on. By now, 3/4/03, I hope you are feeling much better. You have had too much going on. Rest and relax. Do some good things for yourself. And take good care of yourself.
