Guest guest
Jo-ann, Yes! I am looking for all the info on amnio's I can get! Thank you! I have 3-1/2 weeks to wait to have the procedure, so that's just lots of time to get more nervous and scared... elle > Elle, > > Were you asking about amnio's? Guest guest
Hi ! It has been wonderful being off of the Progesterone shots, but it is strange at the same time. I was so used to taking them every 3rd day! It became part of my routine. Good Luck on your test Wednesday. I'll be remembering you in my prayers! As far as my exercises...I can exercise 20 min. every other day for 2 weeks, then 20 min. every day for 2 weeks. My Dr. wants me to stick with walking on the treadmill, riding the stationary bike or swimming. I forgot to ask him about yoga, but am going to call and ask about that. After those first 4 weeks, I can do what I am able to do. He just doesn't want me to overdo. Yesterday was my first day to begin exercising. I thought that 20 min. was being so conservative, but I was very suprised...it was plenty! I haven't been able to exercise since my ep and, in addition to the shortness of breath I have with my pg, I felt like I had a workout. Obviously it is not what I am used to, but I think each time it will get better. It felt so wonderful to be active again! I really miss the spinning classes and the kick boxing, but those will be great after delivery! elle > Hi Elle, > I'm so glad you had a great time! And that you'll be off progestereone > shots! That has to be a wonderful feeling. Guest guest
Pam, I have a really good friend who does the Creative Memories scrapbooks. They are all so adorable! The shortness of breath scares me too. I guess it is just part of it! When will you start exercising again? I find I get really short of breath with just my 20 min. of exercise! My last u/s 2 weeks ago today I was 11 weeks and 3 days, so today would be 13 weeks and 3 days. I guess that means that this weekend 14 weeks will have been completed. I never knew that pregnancy was such a numbers game!!! Take care of you and baby and have a great weekend at your MIL! Happy Easter! elle > Hi Elle > > I take a folk art painting class. Guest guest
Elle I have been to a Creative Memories party. It was fun. There stuff is expensive so I just buy my stuff at the local craft stores. I think I am going to start exercising after Easter. I want to start on the weekend. I am still so tired after work. Although it seems to be getting better. I think I will start with 15-20 min. Do you go to a gym? What did you wear? Pam
Guest guest
Pam, We belong to a health club here, but we also have a fitness center in our complex. Since I can only go for 20 min right now, I am just exercising here at our complex. Seems silly to drive 20-25 min to work out for 20 min. and then drive back another 20-25 min. I have just been wearing drawstring gym shorts and a big Tshirt. I did buy a unitard for later on. elle > Elle > > I have been to a Creative Memories party. It was fun. Guest guest
: Wow, that is great. My DH is in finances, and I am a retired cosmetologiest. I keep my license active, but I do not work. I am a SAHM. I had terrible veins with RJ in one leg. My OB said that once I am done having children. She will remove them for me. Guest guest
Pam, Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your support! The u/s was amazing! I'm not sure if it is the same thing as a 3D u/s or not. I think it might be. I can't imagine seeing any more than we were able to see. elle 15 weeks 2 days > Elle > > I'm so glad your amnio is over and that everything went well. I > thought of you all day yesterday. Guest guest
, I think it must be. I can't imagine seeing any more detail than what we saw. In our conversations with my Dr. here, my Dr. in San and my Godfather, who is an OB/GYN, the Level 2 Structural U/S will show you things that no other test will (like the 4 heart chambers, the bladder, etc) but the AFP or Triple Screen Test will only give you your risk factor. They will not diagnose if there is a problem. There is also the false positive/false negative issue. The Amnio gives you a 100% accurate diagnosis. I highly recommend the Level 2 Structural U/S regardless of what other testing any one chooses to do or chooses not to do. There is absolutely no risk. elle 15 weeks 2 days > Elle, > Is a Level 2 u/s the same as a 3D u/s? Guest guest
elle, I have a question.. I am RH- and I thought that you only had to have one shot and that was good forever...do you have to have more than one? and with each pg?? lisa r
Guest guest
, Both my Dr. here and my Dr. in San have told me that I will have to have the RhoGam shot every time I am pg, whether it results in mc, ep or delivery. You also have to have it with an Amnio test. In addition, you have to have it around 28 weeks during a pg. I had one after my ep, then I had it with the Amnio. I will have another in the last trimester and again after delivery. Fun, huh??? I have also read this in all of my books, so unfortunately one shot isn't good forever...sorry! elle 15 weeks 3 days > elle, > I have a question.. Guest guest
Pam, When the baby was kicking, everyone kept asking if I could feel it. I couldn't I have felt something different a few times over the last week, but I can't say for sure if it is the baby kicking or not. My girlfriend who is due with twins any day told me that I will definately know when the baby kicks. I bought a couple pairs of shorts because it is already really hot here. One is a really soft denim that came as a set with a yellow top trimmed in the same denim from Motherhood Maternity. The other pair is kahki and I found them at a local San Maternity shop. They both have the drawstring waistband, so they can be worn throughout pg. In the stores, they just have you tie the drawstring into a knot. That was a huge pain when it came time to untie the knot, so I went to the sewing section of Wal Mart and bought the plastic toggles used on jackets with drawstrings. They came 2 to a package for about $.75 and I've put them on all of my drawstring pants. They make a huge difference! elle 15 weeks 3 days > Elle > > When you had the u/s done and saw the baby kivking could you feel > anything at all? Guest guest
Hey, I thought I'd chime in on the swimsuit conversation! I, too always wear a two piece and when I went maternity clothes shopping, I tried on a maternity bathing suit. I swear, I thought that with all the material in that things, that I'd drown if I got wet! It weighed so much! So, I wen to Marshall Fields and bought a really cute "Tank-ini". It's a regular bottom with a top that is like a bra top with material below it. Does that make sense? Anyway, I haven't had a need to wear it yet, but I'm hoping too! {{{HUGS}}}
Guest guest
Elle, No, it isn't a maternity suit. I'm normally a size 5 or 7 when I'm not pregnant, so I bought the suit in a size 11. The material part is like mesh or something, it stretches and is see thru, so I'm hoping that my belly won't be totally busting out of it! It is pretty big still, so I hope that it'll due. The bottoms are regular, I like them though because the way they are cut, they go up to about 2 inches below my belly button, which is where I like to wear my undies anyway. Now, I just wish it was warm enough to wear it!!! {{{HUGS}}} 28weeks2days

Guest guest
, I bought my DH a wonderful book called " She's Having A Baby And I'm Having A Breakdown " . It is very informative, but also has humor to it and is written speciafically for Dad's-to-be. He has really enjoyed it and it has helped him through some of my worrying and nervousness. elle 17 weeks > > Elle > > Thanks! Wow, 17 weeks! That is great to hear! Guest guest
Elle, thanks, I think I will have to go and check it out. My dh hasn't been around many babies and pregnant people. We did go online to a website that AmyR gave me. It showed u/s pics. and told what you should see at different weeks and what you might be feeling. He found that to be quite interesting. He said he didn't realize so much happens so early on. I think he would enjoy the book. Thanks. Re: Elle ,I bought my DH a wonderful book called "She's Having A Baby And I'm Having A Breakdown".
