Guest guest
Hi everyone. I was just posting on another board on the topic of being grateful for what we have, which led me to mull over the craziness of so many of us being distressed about eating too much while half the rest of the world don't have enough to eat. (I'm basically just going to repeat myself here - apologies to those from the other board who have already seen my ramblings.) Let's face it - how grateful should *all* of us be that (in most cases) TOO MUCH food is our problem? When I think I want more " stuff " , I think of the people in this world who have no " stuff " at all - not even sufficient to eat. How insane must they think we are, being miserable about having too much food, some healthy fat? So I want to encourage everyone here to have an attitude of gratitude for the fact that we (most of us anyway) have the freedom to listen to our bodies' needs and meet them with such a wonderful array of satisfying choices. We are so lucky, but I think we forget that a lot of the time. I do, anyway. One thing I am very grateful for is having the capacity to be a Unicef Global Parent and helping to provide for the people who did not have the good fortune I had to be born in the country I live in, with the opportunities I have been given. Here's something positive and fun to do (if you're a language geek like me) - go visit www.freerice.com and play the on-line word game which results in rice donations to the United Nations World Food Program. Go. Now. See if you can reach level 50; I've never got past 49, dammit. Hugs all S
