Guest guest
and others, here is what happens on Mondays, hopefully I won't leave things out. First thing when you get there you weigh, then blood pressure, blood sugar and temperatures are taken. Then they put a IV in arm so the 3 insulins can be hooked up. There is a breathing machine you use six times that day, that is to make sure you are activating liver functions, this takes between 3 to 6 minutes, to reach numbers for them. Then breakfast, usually to get you started anywhere between sixty to one hundred carbs, depdending on blood sugar. then every 30 minutes a blood sugar is taken, except for the last 30 minutes your there or longer then it is every 15 minutes, you do not leave until blood pressure and sugar is stabilized. Each insulin drip is one hour. Then for the next drip you given more food, anything from snack food, healthy choice meal to frozen yogurt, plus I failed to mention nothing there is sugar free, they do watch fat consumption. Then final drip is the same things as mentioned above, plus soda or juice. At days end you are tired and ready for a nap, after all the carbs. Also, depending on blood sugars before eating depend on how many carbs you get. The first day you go you are given glucose to drink, then the next week until you don't go your given food. do you remember the man's name who started these treatments? I know every six months blood is drawn and sent to Florida Atlantic University for research purposes. We call ourselves guinea pigs without cages. Hope you can make head and tails out of this.
