Your numbers in the 80s are great. Work with your doctor, diabetic specialist and diabetic dietician to work out a plan that best helps you 24 hours a day. Unless ADA has changed their bg range in the last few weeks, I believe it is less than 160 two hours after a meal. I know that Joslin Diabetes Center has a goal of less than 160 two hours after a meal. However, it is not all about goals as set by ADA/Joslin. It is what your doctor recommends and you feel comfortable with. My goals are lower than what my doctor recommends. She knows how high I can go before she will put me back on meds. Again, I stress that we cannot tell someone that goals are a certain range just because someone's doctor has set those goals. There are many factors to be considered when doctors set goals for their patients. For us to tell someone that their goals should be at a certain range, when no matter what they do, they can't reach those goals will only lead to stress for that person. We are here to offer support. Always remember to state " this is what my doctor recommends " or " you could try this, but check with your doctor " . hugs Eunice
