Guest guest
Flora, I know my pets talk to me. My Lucy comes running whenever I either call her name, or whistle. She's just started responding to the whistling, and it's so funny. She jumps up in my lap, gets right in my face, and meows. Lucy is two, and I just had her " fixed " . She was getting a little out of control. She had 4 litters of kittens in 11 months. My vet suggested I name her " Loose Lucy " . She had been an outside cat part of the time. But, now that she's fixed she has no desire to go outside. Probably no point in it, huh? Take care Flora, and continue to enjoy your kitties! Guest guest
Flora, I to have 2 cats and 1 dog a pug. And really if is outside and I need him the cat starts to meow and the dog will to the door and bark until checks on me. They are my enjoyment. Could not do without them. Just had to add my two cents in. Jane Anne King Re: My pets , I agree pets are a god send for me I'm alone almost all day. Guest guest
Jane Anne, Aren't pets wonderful they just know when things are not right. If I'm sick they are right next to me on the bed otherwise they would be looking out the window. They just know..........I'm glad I have them too...........Flora

Guest guest
Hi Flora, Up here in Gainesville I have two cats - Retread and Cinco. Retread is very special. When he was just a big kitten back in California he was run over. (This was B4 he was our cat). Someone (not his unknown owner) took him to the vet who was going to put him down. But the vet's wife said - " you can save him. " His head was flat as a pancake. So the vet operated and did save him. They named him Retread. We got him when he was about two. Now he is 16! He is a gorgeous orange tabby, loves life and loves anyone who will feed him. Cinco is black, age 13. We call then the Hallowe'en cats. Last week I got stuck in the back yard out of view of the house (no one home anyway) in my wheelchair. My kitties could not help me but they found me and came and sat with me. Eventually the man who sprays for bugs rescued me. Pets are great! Jane in Gainesville
Guest guest
Sherry, My hot flashes are bearable and are over in a couple of seconds so I am not taking anything for menopause. My mother never took any nor did my grandmothers they all lived well into their 80's my mother is 82 and she still can run so my family stock is good. No body in our family both father & mother sides had any problems with motor neuron.........just heart problems but that's just old age..wish I could have followed in their footsteps................Flora
Guest guest
Jane, what a story, Retread sure sounds like a special cat and went through a very difficult time. Thank God you got him.................Our first cat " Fanny " she had no tail and just showed up one day as a kitten at the back door. We had her for 20 years and finally had to put her down it was hard. But she is in the backyard with a marker so she is still with me............Well I better get a move on have stuff to do..................Flora

Guest guest
We have fish. I think they are relaxing to watch. I have Bettas at my desk. Goldfish in the living room. My husband is working on another fish tank for his Albino catfish he brought home from the pet store. They told him it could go in with our goldfish. Wrong....plus the thing has grown at least 2 inches since he brought it home. Heard it could go well over a foot long and will eat anything smaller than it is. If he doesn't hurry up the thing will be standing up on his tail waiting for his dinner with his head sticking out of the 2 gal tank I have him in...we had to scoop him quickly and find him a new domain .... We have four dogs and 3 cats... 2 guinea pigs...not to forget the chickens, peacocks and rabbits. The cats are comical...in the morning and night they chase each other and play hide n sick. The dogs..usually sleep or chase me around. The others are outside. Too cold to see them out right now. Rabbits of course are in their own heated barn. They are companions though... I have to go out to the barn to feed...oh ..the cold. Flora,, I just got over my hot flashes too...but now I've got them back heavy....My h and, feet and legs are ice cold and the rest of me is in a dead sweat. You don't know whether to turn the heat up or turn it down... I take Actenol for the osteoporosis along with Calcium. I take it once a week. I took Evista a while back. I take Cenestin for the menopause. Synthetic estrogen along with Vit E. Black Cohosh and red clover help also the hot flashes..and soy milk. I now am taking 3 or 4 meds that can give you hot flashes. I guess there is an exchange...of what you have to deal with.. I never know w hen my knee is going to give out...its just gone... Sherry ----- Original Message ----- From: DBrand1423@... Guest guest
Jane, Thats how we came by one of the cats. Found her in the middle of the road. She had been hit. I t urned back to get her and had to shut my eyes everytime a car went by. I finally ran,,grabbed and kept running to the other side. (that was when I could run) Took her to the vet and she stayed. My husband asked " what are you going to do with her? " Of course my response was " keep her " . They found nothing wrong with her. She was brought home and placed in my granddaughters arms for her to love. She is still that baby..we say she is a little brain damaged from being hit in the head by a car... she is just a plain short haired tiger...but we love her. I think she is around 4 now... I have a Yellow Nape which talks a lot, she is 15 years old and got her as a baby. taught her to talk but picks up a lot on her own, calls me " grandma, I love you " also whistles, laughs like me or anyone else, says Hello and good by. Loves to be sprayed for a bath. She is a lot of company. Re: My pets > > > , I agree pets are a god send for me I'm alone almost all day.
