Guest guest
Hello Kris I noticed that you had the " Sugarbaker " surgery. May ask how you are doing and did you have any follow up with Dr. Sugarbaker? You may email me if you want. I know that sometimes talking about this procedure can sometimes go very long. Would love to chat with someone else who has been through this and how they handle the months and years afterward. Thanks Deb
Guest guest
Deb- In brief, I recovered from Dr. Sugarbaker's surgery with no complications, and was discharged 2.5 wks after surgery. Like your husband, I did not have a second dose of chemotherapy because of previous radiation therapy as well as due to the fact that my peritoneal nodules had decreased markedly on the oxaliplatin chemo I had pre op. Unfortunately, 6 wks later I had recurrence from my rectal carcinoma in lymph nodes adjacent to my spine near my kidneys. I have been on oxaliplatin/Xeloda since June which so far is controlling this. So far I have had only mild side effects. I have developed some fluid in my abdomen of uncertain cause, which has increased somewhat since first identified 4 mth ago. Kris
Guest guest
> > Deb- I'd love to fill you in on the details by e mail. Like you say, sometimes discussions of this surgery can take a great deal of space, but I realize that I can't read your entire e mail address. Feel free to e mail me however at yahoo.com.
