OK

Clearly it is not the single, whole of body spasm I sometimes experience

just as I am drifting into sleep.

Thanks for your reply.

Ronnie does the clonus look like parkinsons (sp) movement?

My question is ...is it this muscle jerk that can make the paper on your lap

jump?? the water ripple in the water?? your pants jerk in one area outward

like someone just thumped you with their finger from the inside of your pant

leg??? Find it happening when you rest the muscle..???? The ones that

drive you nuts???? Is that what we call clonus????

Hi Cole,

Welcome to the group, I hope you benifit from it as much as I have.

I'm Donna and I had a problem chasing my grandaughter 3 years ago.

I could outrun the little long legged bugger at one time. I sounded

drunk to everyone who knew me too. I was finally dx. June 2002. I

knew I had PLS or MS, but it was a relief to find out it was only

upper motor neuron. I hope your second opinion turns up a lighter

dx. too.

I hope you dance again,

Donna

My leg will sunddenly give one quick jerk when I lay down and get

relaxed at night. It's involuntary. Is that clonus?

Sherry

What you are describing sounds like twitches to me. My neuro will push up

fast on my foot and my foot will start a slow rhythmic tremor until I

straighten out my foot. That's clonus. The fast jumps in your muscles that

happen all over are twitches. I've had a twitch in my leg knock the TV

remote off my lap! The way my wife and I have decided to look at it is that

twitches are annoying, but we don't want to know what happens after the

twitching stops!

Ok that is simple enough...a twitch. I will go along with that . I know about

the remote control thing or anything else if it gets in that right spot..

Trying to get the right words...but twitch is good... LOL>>>
