We spend a lot of time discussing our AF experiences, that's what we're here

for.

We know each other because of a medical condition we share.

I thought wouldn't it be nice to share a lighter moment. Our music tastes.

How about we list our three favorite bands or artists and any comments about

them. Just for the fun of it!

Happy Holidays

Rich O

My three are:

Stevie Ray Vaughn- Extrodinary Blues guitarist and singer. Now deceased.

BB King- There's none better. His early works are the best 1950 thru 1960.

Sinartra- Smooth as butter. He could bridge the generations.

I absoluely love all Irish musicians; however, three in particular stand out:

Dermot Henry:

Dermot and his band are a dynamic Irish Dance band. He was born in Sligo,

Ireland and now lives in the Bronx - and he sings and plays guitar. Dermot

Henry is booked just about Summer to play at an Irish Hotel in the Catskills

called Gavin's Golden House - and dancing to Dermot Henry's music is such a

high. He's also a very funny guy!

Dermot O'Brien:

Dermot O'Brien is a singer, accordionist, songwriter, arranger, and producer.

In the sixties, Dermot and his band were one of the biggest draws in Ireland and

were featured on records, radio and TV shows. He is still known as the King of

the Accordian. I spent many an evening and afternoon dancing to the sounds of

Dermot's guitar - such talent!

Al Logan:

Al is an Irish singer with the most beautiful voice - smooth and mellow - very

similar to Bing Crosby. He sings every summer in a little Irish Hotel in East

Durham in the Catskills, New York State, and there isn't a summer that goes by

that I would miss listening and dancing to this talented man, Al Logan is one

of my all time favorites - so much so, I named my Maltipoo after him, " Logan " !

When Logan was puppy, I showed Al a photo of him and told him that I named my

dog after him. He was so honored, he made an announcement and showed the

audience the picture. Al Logan has not only a superb voice, but he's also a

super nice guy!

I must also mention here that I have two other favorites:

(1) Nat King Cole; deceased but never forgotten;

(2) Clay Aiken; a young talented man who is on his way up.

Sorry Edgar, looks like we're going to have to agree to disagree. I think for

the first day of the year, its a nice light touch - and also I find it very

interesting to find out just that wee bit more of my fellow Afibbers and what

makes them tick (no pun intented)- even if its just their preferred music.

And while on the subject, another good and light start to our New Year, would be

for our members to post their Bios - so that I can add to our " Getting to Know

You " database. We have forty-nine (49) members listed. How about it people?

Just ramble on about yourself by way of a post, and I'll do the rest.

Happy New Year everyone,

Hi Ellen. First let me apologize for the caps which I know is a hot button of

yours. I was just upset that while being in afib since 9 last evening I have to

plow through OT posts in my inbox.

If it is just new years I couldn't care less, but it is in direct violation of

your own stated rules that OT posts are not allowed and are grounds for

dismissal. With which I heartily agree.

Hey, I like Irish music too and my girlfriend is in fact a fine Irish musician.

But the afib list is not the place for this topic and I hope you will soon

enforce your own rules and terminate this thread.

Thanks and wishing you the best for the New Year,

Edgar
