Guest guest
Can anyone help out with this queston? I know there are some sort of meters that alert when the BG goes down, but am not familiar with them. Fw: [guide-dogs-4-2] " The " phone call - our adult children Hi Pat, Do you know of any monitoring device that would awake someone when his/her blood sugar is dangerously low? I've included the following message to illustrate what can happen. Happy New year, Wish we had off until Jan. 7. Flerman Re: [guide-dogs-4-2] " The " phone call - our adult children Wow , I was in the reverse role this morning. I had to call my mom. Not that she could do anything, but I just had to tell her about our visit from the paramedics this morning. She said I must have ESP, because she was just getting ready to call me. I talked to them very briefly on Christmas, because I was in transit. We hadn't talked for a while, but after this latest paramedics stuff, I had to talk. Phil is at work, and good for him, because this morning, his blood sugar was 26. I never wake up at that time of day, but two things alerted me something was wrong. First, Phil began humming and thrashing in his sleep, something he never does. Second, Garron started whining. This was just too much insulin. He ate plenty last night. The scary part about this one was that I couldn't wake him up. All other times, he's been at least semiconscious, but not this time. They had to give him an IV to revive him. I can't help asking the " what if I had remained asleep? " question. My mom said that it's a good thing I'm not going away from him for three weeks to Seeing Eye, and she's right. I'd be a basket case with him alone for that long.
