Normal overeating

Hi Everyone!!

Last week at work, I promised my boss I would bake some cookies to

leave on the break table. So yesterday I decided to bake cookies. I

love to bake cookies and I do it pretty frequently. Usually I choose

not to overindulge in what I bake because it makes me feel very full

and yucky. But yesterday I was quite hungry, as it was 3:00 in the

afternoon and all I'd had was a glazed donut from DD, and I decided to

sample the cookie dough. It was DELICIOUS!!! I ate lots of it and

really enjoyed it. I was full. Not overfull, but I'd had enough.

Despite that I was full, I wanted to taste some cookies hot from the

oven. So I ate some hot from the oven. They were FABULOUS! By that

time I was really full!

I wasn't beating myself up, but I made a neutral observation: I ate

too much. In fact, I wished I had eaten less. No big deal. The funny

thing is that I don't regret that I overate at all. I don't feel

guilty. I am even woke up feeling full this morning. I don't think

I'll need much to fill me up today. When I do get hungry, though, I'm

sure my meal will involve more of those wonderful cookies (white

chocolate chip with oatmeal and a bit of coconut - yum!).

Anyway, this whole experience made me think about how often normal

eaters eat too much. I'm sure it varies between individuals. I know

some of my normal eater friends overeat on occasion...For those with

kids, maybe you could tell me how often/when your kids overeat. Not

looking to rationalize or justify my behaviors, just kind of curious.

Thanks :)
