Guest guest
Hi, my head is in a spin, where do I start!? The surgeon had scheduled me for a last minute 3d ultrasound today to get a better image for himself before going in to surgery at 3PM. The 3d showed that there was really only about .5cm that he could remove. And that it would have no impact on conception either way, but would reduce our miscarriage chance a little- roughly 10% as a guestimate he gave. The surgeon felt that it wasn't worth it to do surgery for such a small .5cm change, a slightly lower chance of miscarriage, and lose 3 cycles of ttc during recovery. There was a great deal of debate and confusion about the condition of the uterus. There is a slight dip on the fundus from the outside. On the inside there is a little triangle of tissue now ( about 1 cm). The surgeon felt that it was a partial septate uterus, and a tiny bit bicornuate! This I never heard of before, but then I have just started to learn about Mullerian! We compared the hsg to the sono, and the surgeon said the entire fundus is only 2cm thick from the outside to the deepest part of the scar. And that is too little to cut! He said that the uterine wall should be 2cm thick all the way around approximately. And that the sono indicated that I was probably partially bicornuate, and that that was the architecture of my uterus, surgery wouldn't change the shape, and to go forth and multiply! This fits in with what the other two surgeons told DH and I last week. Our chances to conceive are still good, and our miscarriage risk is only theoretically higher. So the surgeon, DH and I decided to cancel the whole surgery! And we switched to a clomid/iui cycle instead! We were so happy, we ran to the pharmacy to get my clomid refill, and I took it right away, and then we went out to Legal Sea Foods for a celebration lunch! God is good! Thank you everyone so much for praying for me and thinking about me! So much drama! Whew! God bless you all! Love, XOXO CC
