Guest guest
Hi I am very worried about you. I constantly have low blood pressure of around 95/65. What meds are you taking? Could be cold on minute and hot the next be a side effects of the meds? Love How low to worry about it? I've been having problems lately, dizzy spells, can't walk straight, walking into walls, feel like I'm gonna pass out. Anyway at the docs the other day my BP was 100/84 or something like that. I usually have high blood pressure, 180's to 200's on top. Today its been anywhere from 99/88 to 100/60. One doc told me NOT to drive until we figure out whats causing this. Oh yeah, I also get the sweating one minute/ freezing the next, no appitite either. Hell of a way to loose weight. I lean down to give the cats some food and almost pass out when I stand up. said he has really been able to see my freckles latley that I'm so pale. I'm tired of this crap! Any ideas? Oh yeah, I can't stay awake either, let me sit down for a few minutes and I'm out like a light, I almost fell asleep in my linguinie the other night, but if I go to bed I can't sleep. Double weird. Its been one of those 's Law's days for me. I hope everyone else had a much better daythan I have. Guest guest
What are they doing to find out what's causing it? I hope that if they had you on BP meds or diurretics they've been discontinued? Are you eating at least, even though no appetite? and getting plenty of water? Rest. And make sure that when you get up from lying down you first sit a minute then slowly stand. And no bending down. Get to feed the cats, you don't need to fall. The sleepiness is most likely related to the BP thing. Hope they get it straightened out soon. (((hugs))) Kathy
Guest guest
, are you anemic? My bp is always 100/60 or lower and docs just say I have a healthy heart (I do wonder though since I'm overweight and have these other problems) but I would be more concerned that it has CHANGED not just necessarily what the reading is. When did you last talk to your doc about it? How low to worry about it? I've been having problems lately, dizzy spells, can't walk straight, walking into walls, feel like I'm gonna pass out. Guest guest
It definitely is the change they worry about the most. My pressure was always low --normal was about 100/60--but since the pain it has crept up. Still not usually too high, but way higher than it used to be. Kathy How low to worry about it? Guest guest
Nope they didn't reduce the blood pressure meds and I don't think I'm on any diurettics that I know of anyway. As for getting to feed MY cats, I'd have to be on my death bed and then he'd still gripe about it. I'm gonna call my doc this afternoon and see if he wants me to back off the blood pressure pills or whatever. I never go anywhere without some water right by me, my mouth gets so dry I can't talk if I don't keep drinking water.
Guest guest
, are you anemic? I've been anemic off and on for years and so far no idea why, not that anyone has done much testing to find out why. I was at the docs last week but he didn't order any blood tests. He thought it might be from some of the new meds I was changed to.
Guest guest
I have a question.... ok 2 questions.... did the same doc prescribe everything? And why are you on Zanaflex and Levbid (Livbid?) at the same time? RE: How low to worry about it? Guest guest
No the same doc's didn't prescribe everything, but each of my docs have a sheet of who my docs are/meds/surgeries/diagnosises/ etc. Zanaflex is a muscle relaxer and Levbid is for my spastic colon. Guest guest
- Oh my goodness. Aren't you sick of taking all those meds? I know I am... and if I would be taking your amount, I would go nuts. Please let me know how you are feeling today. Guest guest
Hi , I hope you don't mind that I ran a check on all your drugs and an interaction came up: ACETAMINOPHEN (in Fioricet) may interact with BUTALBITAL (in Fioricet) Acetaminophen is broken down and removed from the body by the liver. If this happens too quickly, then potentially less of the drug would be available for the body to use and blood levels could become too low. This could either make acetaminophen less effective or delay its pain relieving and fever reducing effects. It could also increase the formation of byproducts from acetaminophen. Excessive levels of these byproducts can be harmful to the liver. Butalbital may cause acetaminophen to be broken down at a faster rate than normal. Based on information from several studies, the risk of experiencing liver damage is the greatest when a high dose of butalbital has been used, or when butalbital has been taken for a long period of time and an overdose of acetaminophen is consumed. However, this potential interaction does not appear to cause any harmful effects when the recommended doses of butalbital and acetaminophen are used. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems. Guest guest
, Heres more: VERAPAMIL (in Tarka) may interact with BUTALBITAL (in Fioricet) Verapamil is broken down and removed from the body by the liver. If this happens too quickly, then potentially less drug would be available for the body to use and blood levels could become too low. This could make verapamil less effective. Butalbital may cause verapamil to be broken down at a faster rate than normal. If you are using these drugs together and begin to experience problems, your doctor may consider adjusting the dose of verapamil. You may want to ask your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you think you are having problems. VERAPAMIL (in Tarka) may interact with GRAPEFRUIT JUICE Grapefruit juice may block the breakdown of verapamil by the stomach. This could cause an increase in verapamil blood levels and increase the risk of side effects. Side effects of verapamil include constipation, low blood pressure, and gum problems. You should avoid taking verapamil with grapefruit juice or any products containing grapefruit juice. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems. Guest guest
Well--I'm only partway through the list and I see a couple of possibles. Most notably the Tarka which is for high blood pressure and , of course, can cause low blood pressure and also has a side effect of dizziness. Then there's the zanaflex--have you been needing to take more than usual? That can cause dizziness and low blood pressure. The Omeprazole can cause dizziness. Going back to your list now.
