Guest guest
I am more aware than ever before about what makes my autism worse. Now that I am using things that have greatly improved my T-cell and lymphocyte count,I don't get the crazy high fevers anymore, but I do still have my severe GI problems. If I have a couple of days of severe GI symptoms, without fever, like I have had recently,by the third day,I have the handflapping, the vocal stimming, and the cognitive deterioration. Guest guest
Hi , I have been reading all your posts and find them very helpful and interesting. My 7 year old Autistic son had major GI issues and has hand flapping and loud vocal stims at times. I find it interesting that you mention it is from your GI flare ups. We have been advised that since my son has environmental allergies and very sensative to mold now that it is in it's peak season in New York - that the vocal stims and hand flapping at this time are due to the environmental allergies. Just curious to get your take on that. Thanks again for all your input and comments on the board. Bernice Gluten, maybe. GI,definitely. Guest guest
Wow....I wonder if that's what happened with my daughter! She was in the hospital a couple weeks ago following a seizure, and of course, was pumped full of antibiotics and antivirals because she had a high fever and they didn't know why. That of course, kills the GOOD stuff in the gut (and I got her on probiotics when we came home from hospital) and that can obviously cause GI problems. I did notice that her vocal stimming seemed to be worse since then....maybe it's not just my imagination! Thanks for the insight!
