Re: Checking in after Christmas

Michele, I've learned that 5 pounds isn't all that much of a

fluctuation for one's body weight - especially after a holiday! It

wouldn't surprise me that you are hungry because you are suffering

from a cold. Its takes calories to fuel an elevation in blood temp

(necessary to fight that cold) as well as fueling your body's immune

system too. Its great that you enjoyed your time with your family - I

would have eaten due to stress if I had been around my family!

We're buried under at least a foot of snow and it's still falling. I'm not sure

when my eating

will get back to normal - or I'll get off my behind and do something. One thing

I'm not doing

is getting out my scale. i think that would have a negative effect.

I hope you get back to 'normal' soon so you feel better!

I envy you if you are sitting your behind not doing anything. We got about 4" of snow on Christmas day (I can't remember the last time it snowed ON christmas! I was like a kid! It was so cool having a white christmas!) and today we've gotten about 6". I unfortnately have been stuck at work all day and it has been sooooooo slow and very boring. That's when I definately turn to food (snacking and munching) when not hungry to pass the time (but way better than I used to be- definately making progress). One nice thing is that over the next serveral days, hopefully it will warm up some and we will have quite a bit of melt off - and it will be so pretty when the sun shines on all the sparkling snow and the sky is bright blue

My husband and son are both off, and today is our anniversary so I haven't done

a lot

other than fixing meals and doing a bit to make sure thigns don't get too out

of control :)

Our groceries are running a bit low. Other than christmas leftovers that is. But

the milk

eggs and laundry detergent are getting scarce.

I have a new pair of snowshoes I've been wanting to break in - maybe this is the

time. I

wonder if Vitamin cottage is open ;):)

That sounds so beautiful. :-) We have snow here

tonight and it is just falling nice and soft.

I think because I took off extra days from work and I

am out of my normal schedule I am eating more than I

should be. I want to get back to my normal schedule

to get things straightened out. I work from home but

I still don't find myself over eating....I am now

because I am not working. That is weird.

4 " of snow sounds lovely. So far all we have is about 2 " which is just

fine too. Having not lived where it snows before (from SF bay area), I

insisted that we not get into 'shovel' depths here! Enjoy the beauty

and rejoice for not having it a driving hassle too. ehugs, Katcha

I grew up in the bay area. We got snow once - I think it was about 1972 - it was

unheard of

Yes, I too remember snow in the SF bay area - in 1962. It was on a

weekend and all the kids had GREAT fun!! Of course it didn't last

long, but it was a treat for us to say the very least. - ehugs, Katcha

(ps I grew up in Mountain View - how about you?)
