You don't get a lot of blood...so sometimes you have to " pump " it on your forearm. Just push it up and down ten times or so to get more blood on the blooddrop....you'll get the hang of it. It really doesn't hurt, pushing on your arm. Nothing like pricking your fingertip! Good luck, maralee **** ****I just bought the Accu-Chek Compact a few days ago.
