Guest guest
I called ConAgra foods about their Ranch Style Beans. They had an automated recording that said they will clearly list any allergens even if in a small amount, and they will put an additional statement at the bottom if it has any of the major allergens. It also said that all the ingredients they purchase from other places are held to the same allergen reporting requirements and they check them regularly. I went ahead and spoke with a person to see what they would say as gluten isn't actually considered a major allergen and he said that he can't say the beans are gluten free because they contain vinegar which can be made with corn or wheat. He said they get their vinegar from an outer source so he doesn't know. First I thought vinegar was o.k. and what he says contradicts what the recording said. Just curious if anyone had any more info. Thanks, Christal Yahoo! Sports Rekindle the Rivalries. Sign up for Fantasy Football
Guest guest
Doesn't matter where the vinegar is from (which is why they don't put it on the label, no doubt). I would think that may change after the first of the year (but again, there are loopholes in the new labeling law that actually exempt some items from being labeled ... I just wouldn't worry about vinegar as one of them). -----Original Message----- I called ConAgra foods about their Ranch Style Beans.
